Iv seen some lowering springs on alt autos price list for 95 quid
Anyone used these, i want to lower the coop so it looks a bit better but dont wanna spend a fortune.
Are these any good or are there some better budget ones out there?

Im looking at lowering too! Id be more inclined to buy from Steve at Alternative than some cheaper/dearer ones from fleabay,Steve knows the cars and wouldnt sell crap in my opinion!

£184 delivered? That must be plus VAT?

If that is the price, then its incredibly cheap.

Eibach have a strict policy of selling their kits are the same price across all vendors, hence you never really see any change in price more of more than £5-£10.

Lowering the car with only springs offers nothing except looks - ride quality and handling get worse.

suspension is one thing that you dont want to spend as little as possible on.

Well the ride aint great anyway on 17s, and the springs are ancient.

I just want the coop to look better.

And surely the centre of gravity will be lower so it will be better on the bends?

So whats so great about the eibach springs then?

And will the ride really be that much worse? Its bad over potholes anyway.

yes - it will. 17's will make it even worse.

Lowering the coupe more than 20-25mm puts the wishbones at the front at the wrong angle for going round corners, and will overload the outside front suspension on most setups. I messed about a lot with the suspension on a 20VT, and this is all based on experience not hear say.

A stiffer spring without increased damping results in the car being under damped....bounce bounce bounce...long after you have gone over a bump... you get the idea.

Eibach springs on stock dampers are also poor. You need to look at dampers and springs, or be content looking good, cornering slowly, and bouncing about in a straight line.

I bought some Koni springs off them to compliment the inserts for the n/a but a German 'copy' arrived instead!
Tried to tell me they were the same but sent them straight back.

If they are genuine Eibachs, then snap them up at that price.

I love Eibach springs. I've just bought the full Eibach Pro-damper kit and Eibach springs for my BMW 540i Sport.

I must say I don't think I have ever just fitted them onto standard dampers. On my M3's I fitted them with Bilstein B8's all round, which are a cracking damper. I know they are engineered to work with standard dampers but on any Coupe now the dampers will be tired and not control the spring rebound aswell hence the bouncing. But if your dampers are fresh then you should be ok.

I fitted H&R springs to my LE. I changed the rear dampers to KYB Ultra SR's at the time and the back feel brilliant. I was going to put Bilstein B6's at the front but things have changed.

Would I get H&R again for a Coupe? No. Why? The front doesn't drop as much, another 10mm and they would have been perfect.

My Plus which I recently sold had Eibachs on standard dampers and it drove very, very nice. Eibach all the way for me now!

I've just had some lowering springs fitted to my coop at Joe's this evening. Just got back. They are 35mm lower and the car looks perfectly stanced. As usual, my mate Joe, worked well into the night to get this job done as he knew I wanted them on before going to the Gaydon Show - note: he'll do this for anyone, not just me

£150.00 for 4 brand new lowering springs all around + cost for fitting. I'm chuffed with these. Cheers Joe

I can agree,bouncy for sure.Many dips in the road to spa and bounced along,i will have to purchase new damper eventually.

Didnt stop me from cornering any slower though?
But i did spin if it contributed,i dont know

Just in case they are still available, Fiat Coupe old accessories brochure shows 25mm Eibach lowering springs, with the following part number: 46219517. A quick search on the internet shows a Russian company, VegaAuto, showing this part number, priced at 193.74 Euro. May be worth contacting them to see if they are still available?

For the sake of a few pennies would you rather not get a genuine set from a known supplier (AA) in the UK who supplies quality parts and is on the other end of the phone in the event of any issues...?

My suggestion has nothing to do with money etc. I was just offering some information that the OEM/Eibach Fiat Coupe springs may still be available to buy!

These are a Genuine Fiat Product Supplied By Eibach, which would have been the same for the up rated anti roll bar kit, and are shown in the Fiat Coupe Accessory Catalogue of the time, so I don't think there would be a quality issue!!

As far as I'm aware, you cannot buy from Eibach 25mm lowering springs for this vehicle? I was only suggesting someone may have the Original Eibach Lowering springs which Fiat's supplied during the production of the vehicle.
