I picked up a whole interior from Midlands Car Servicing on Monday and eventually found some time to get it all cleaned up and fitted on Friday and Yesterday. It was filthy! A lot of the dirt was from where it had apparently sat in a breakers yard for a year, but some of it was undoubtedly grime from where the previous owner had sat in it.

With a bottle Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner in hand, I set to ork cleaning it all up. Around 3-4 hours later, I was ready to start removing the old cloth interior and refitting this job. A quick call to a fellow coopster got me an additional pair of hands and we had it all fitted by mid afternoon.

I've also taken pics of the worst of the damage to the driver's seat, but I'm sure I can get rid of the worst of that with some of this Gliptone ScuffMaster. Unfortunately it has a lot of dents and digs in it where the door panel was left on the rear bench seats. I'm hoping this'll come out with warm bodies sitting on it, but if it doesn't, does anyone know what I can do with it?

Does it 'go' in a Sprinty?

I think those dings will come out over time. Seems to have come up well, god bless Gliptone I'm not sure if it works with sprinty? I guess you'd need to see it in the flesh to really decide. Good work anyway Von Trappmeister!

in a few months you wont have any dents mate, i had the same when i fitted some leather in mine, it goes back to its origional shape after time

Yep looks good - I like different leather combos'....

I've removed some dents from leather by pointing a steam cleaner towards them, then cooling off with icepack. Repeat until gone.

Mind, repainted and sanded down leather might not be happy with this approach, and if the leather is perforated it might not be good for the filling.

Alternatively, you may want to wait just a week or two as most of it should already be gone.

Dents should come out fine, scuffs may need to be repaired by a leather care place though.

Have you thought about using the foam pads from your old passenger seat to refresh your new Driver seat?

Lots of hard work by the looks of it getting those marks out.

Get used to it as I'm sure it will be a weekly occurrence

It did take some effort yes! It wasn't until I'd scrubbed up the passenger seat that I realised just how dirty it all was. The rears looked clean in that Inky. I have found a few bits that need more attention now I've seen it in the car in daylight, and have realised that I missed the area that is exposed when you tilt it forward... Shows the contrast against the clean bits though!



Yeah, yeah I won't be able to clean the new one until I can source some chemicals and a steam cleaner and I have reason to pull most of the centre console/ handbrake console out at some point anyway. I might do it then, dependig on how it comes up.

I do think it looks good against the black carpet though

One other thing is that I've only just recently fitted leather gear and handbrake gaitors; I'm wondering if they would look any better in grey now... Over-kill?
