Hunt them down, but dont say anything.
Find where they live and go round at night, paintstrip car and slash tyres.
Maybe put windows through on house or petrol bomb through letterbox, depending how u feel.

Or, get some tipex, and colour your car in.

I'll go for the 1st option then consider the 2nd

Think you should be able to clean the majority of that off. Then maybe worth wafting a little paint where you got bare metal just to protect in the meantime, and make it a little tidier.
Annoying!!!! to say the least!
T-cut will be ok

Last edited by DLONGSTAFF; 08/09/2010 11:30. Reason: add t-cut

There's businesses that can analyse the paint type and match it to cars that used it.

I used this stuff when i got bumped, brilliant!

http://www.rockshore.uk.com/meguiars-scratchx-20---car-swirl--scratch-remover---207ml-449-p.asp

Might need a bodyshop to sort the rest though or get a paint match and touch it up

I would love to paint match the scratch to a model and track it down!

Bummer frown

Sorry to see this. Hope you get it sorted with minimum fuss.

Is it just me or does the vendetta against the Coupe seem to have upped it's pace lately, seems alot of them getting damaged by folks who leave the scene of this, the most heinous of crimes!

It could be that they dont know much about cars and panic that they hit an 'expensive italian sports car' so do a runner! Little do they know.... frown

Well you were hit by a yellow car, which is a rare enough colour really. If it's a car on the school run it should be easier to spot than if its black/silver/blue etc.

Keep an eye out and then get a branch and go Basil Fawlty on their ass.

I'd been about to say don't use T-Cut but I see you've had a respray. The original paint isn't too happy about T-Cut, in fact our resident paint specialist, who was a real professional expert, hated the stuff!

He recommended Farecla G3 and G10 for coupé paint.

My suggestion, for what it's worth, is get in touch with the bodyshop that did the respray, they'll know exactly what paint type they used and what would be best to try with that damage, heck they may even have some in stock they could give you in a small bottle....if you don't ask, you don't get! wink

given that i had the same thing happen to my 16v last week, i can really sympathize with you.

what i will say, is that i spent a good hour polishing the marks out, and with persistance you do get results.

depends how deep the scratches are though really, and if its distorted the panel at all.

so, so, so, frustrating i know though mate.

What makes it far more irritating from my own experience is the lack of humanity/concern that they have damaged your car frown

Most of that looks like it'll mop out. It looks like mostly bumper marking, where (if) it's through to the primer, it'll need touching in. In the first instance mop it out, I'd use Menzerna Power Gloss of 3M Fast cut plus and a compounding pad.

I'm in london next week, if you come to where I am I'll try and get it out for free. I feel sorry for you smile

Miserable illegitimate folk!! banghead .

Take the advice of the Patchmeister bow . I've spent a fortune on various materials that Patch has recommended, and they have all worked perfectly.

Patch, lovely gesture to help out,

Shocking stuff alex frown

If you really do think the culprit is local and will turn up soon maybe you should hold off the repair for a day or two so that you can show them exactly what they've done - they might turn round and say you made it worse/better. Also you can do an exact match on height etc.

Hope you find them...
