I am after a VFM mp3/USB head unit with full iPhone control - one that is compatible with the latest iPhone software version I currently have a Clarion DXZ388RUSB which has been an excellent piece of kit for the money, but it doesnt seem to work with the latest software update on my iPhone? 3GS It worked fine with my 3G Any ideas what could be causing this, or recomend a replacement £100 or under?

Try resetting your phone a couple of times. This seems the most common fix.
Hold down the home and power off buttons together and then release the buttons when the screen goes blank and your phone should reboot.
Repeat this twice and try connecting to your headunit.

as above, i'd try resetting and then trying to re-sync to the head-unit. I have a Kenwood KDC-BT8044U that I used with my old 3G phone (running OS 3) and my new iPhone 4 running OS4.x with no problems. I've not heard of any bluetooth issues with the new and old versions of the iPhone OS but in other areas there has been differences and issues with backward compatibility (mainly for software apps though) As for new headunits, although the BT8044U is outside of your budget by £50, there is a Kenwood unit for £100 that is bluetooth enabled.... it works cheers that's weird I have reset the phone before n it hasn't worked, done it twice and it has *Sorry if you knew this but thought I'd say as I wasn't aware of the function when I got a similar problem* You reset by holding down both the home button and the power button at the same time while it switches off and then hold until it starts up again. I only found the function when I updated the operating system on the 3Gs so expect to need to do it whenever you update.
F****** b****** thing...

A colleague at work has bought a device which he is really happy with. It works by tuning into a FM frequency on your headunit and it picks up the iPhone. Think it cost around £50. Will find out the name if anyone is interested.
