Wondered cos I have been talking to the chappie who's gona respray the front end (stone chips) of my LE, and he mentioned the LE he got awards for modding (with also had lambo doors)

Which got me thinking mmmmmmm lambo style doors now I looked into it and when looking at the doors (opened + lifted) they really kinda sit way high in the air !!

Anyone else looked into doing this in the past

Also mine damen said she would'nt get in and get outta it with those doors on (was just poised to say that's alright dear I'll get another lady to get in + out ovit)

Paused and had a JD momment (looked up diagonally into the air) and saw in slow motion Mike Tyson's Glove with the other half behind it with a sinister grin. Then POW "your back in the room -- And thought better

So back to the plot -- just wondered what u guys thought (in general (although I Still think the concept is a good idea - but am more swayed towards the DON'T DO IT SIDE). due to the size of the doors etc.

Lambo style doors are nice and will get you alot of attention however there are a few things you should know first. They are meant to be really difficult to fit, even proper kits made for a specific model of car. Never ever buy a universal kit as you will get no one to fit it for you and even if you do will probably not be as good a job as you would want.

Also you mention the weight and design of the Coupe doors. I do think they are quite heavy and if opened on a windy day would be putting a lot of pressure on the hinges so could bend and destroy the fit so they wont close properly anymore.

Another problem is how expensive they are. At least £800 to £1100 for proper model specific kits.

I think you need to stick to some of the euro forums and you might have more luck as Im sure not 1 person on this forum has them.

I've seen some these conversions in action, and although in the pictures they look pretty impressive, in reality they're a little wobbly to say the least.

And for the money involved I'd want them to be better than the original side hinges.

Coupe doors are bloody heavy too.

No idea where, you'll have to search, but I remember someone posting on the old forum a website which specifically listed a kit for the Coupe for these doors, along with full installation pics - you have to cut away quite a lot behind the 3/4 panel at the rear of the front wing.

Don't do it.

If you get it done, you'll be over the moon. Then the novelty will wear off & you will be left realising that you look silly everytime you get in & out of the car.

Passers by will think either; 'Wow' look at that, or most probably think 'That bloke thinks he's got a Lambo, what a numpty'.

Some of the finest cars in the world don't have lambo doors, so why do it - even the best lambo ever made doesn't have lambo doors!!

Plus the coupe doesn't have frameless windows, so it will just look shat.

You will regret it.

Also another reason not to get them.

yeah, REALLY needs frameless doors for good effect, AND all the kits i have seen wave about in the wind... you control the out and up movement, not the pivot mechanism so that is shat too...

i work for a steel fabrication company and rekon i can make the kits for less than £300 a set.

I have been looking at this idea for ages and fortunatly for me i know 6 people with lambo door kits and have had many butchers at em to make sure if i made some that they wouldn't be any old shat made in the back of a garage.

when I went to donny weekend not so long ago I saw the LSD kit in the flesh and its looks so easy to make (obviously not the same for legal reason). My mate has a set off ebay for £350 and they are shite they wobble break and really don't work very well at all but after looking at them i can see all the reasons why the LSD kit works so well.

I may pursue my idea but if anyone is interested then u know where i am. I know a guy who will fit em on any car for £300 including body work.
