Yep, both the 2 units Phil had worked fine with the head unit, despite being a slightly newer model.

Now, it's a bit smaller than the old one, so just trying to fit it without moving the mounting bracket smile

Great news thumb Glad it's sorted smile

It might be worth trying to mount it in one of the cubby's in front of the rear light clusters. It should fit in one (I can't remember which one though). And then it'll be out of the way ... it was always a bit of a pain where it was as it limited the height of things you could get into the boot.

Just been playing with it now, and it's now in one of those very cubbys, mounted with industrial strength velcro smile

I think that's the standard method of mounting there! thumb

Bloody thing, spoke too soon. Just got back in, the cd changer lead has 2 pushed in pins causing the right channel to keep cutting in and out.

Bitten the bullet, a fitted new lead ordered at a cost of £50 to fix it.

Least my mounting job got the thumbs up!

Thanks Mario thumb

Dave - I'd rather I listened to the exhaust note, it's not worth £300 for a head unit - that's money better spent on track day fun smile The sound is perfectly fine through those aftermarket speakers you put in.

Rip it all out! laugh In the name of weight saving! laugh

I did toy with that once, but liked listening to D&B when on the track too much! laugh

If I listened to a bit of Joy Division on track I'd be black flagged!

I actually like the factory standard fiat clarion tape deck - with that look there's no better security than that smile
