Just got a quote for chroming my new/ebay omp strutbrace, £140!!! I think i may stick with red flakey paint! Was going to polish it but it looks like a pain in the arse. Asked about chroming the cam cover but was advised against it as apparently the plating tends to peel on aluminium, probably cost a packet anyway.

...the vacuum metalization is cheaper alternative...and clear coat protected should not peel off.

I use "Mikey" for my m/c restores, superb work at a reasonable price. He can polish anything so you could get your cam cover done (I do pamper my bikes...) He does chroming, plating and anodising
