I had my Coupe on a weigh bridge on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome;

1334kg - and that was with £40 of fuel in, and obviously all other fluids.

Nice

No, everything in the car, except the spare wheel, and all the bits that have fallen off over the years!

That sounds about right. I thought dry weight was around the 1275kg mark.

It's bulkier than it looks... but that's still pretty light really.

Coupes are lighter than most hot hatches these days! 5 cylynders also remember.
When evo mag weigh these hot hatches there normally more than manufactures claim eg focus rs had more weight and most are around 284 bhp not the 305 claimed, the new megane put out more bhp actually. Also not to turn this thread into a le sunroof debate but mine also doesn't have one either! definitely not on all LE then.

Sunroof was an option on all models.
I do like mine but I suspect it's quite heavy.. and in the wrong place (high up). Never mind the weakened roof structure. frown

Anybody know the extra weight of the sunroof?

When I weighed my heavily stripped out Sprinty, I was a bit surprised to find it was about 1250kg - I had weighed the stuff coming out and I reckon I'd removed 120 - 150kg

This would suggest that a fully-fuelled Coupe is nearer 1400kg

However, the weighbridge was for HGVs, so there's always the question of accuracy with such a low weight

How accurate would the weights be from the brake test at the MOT?
I noticed that the printout gives a weight for each axle.

Weighbridges are usually dead accurate. If you were charging for a product by weight you wouldn't want to he giving stuff away for free!

The weigh bridge I used was a manual jobby, the ones where you slide a weight along a bar to try balance it

Mine probably weighs 2 tonnes - air con, sunroof + boot contents (tool kit, oil, fuses, spare bulbs, HID kit not yet fitted, boost gauge + kit not yet fitted, trolly jack, tent + sleeping bag for when she breaks, AA paperwork shocked ).

Lack of oil in the engine probably improves the bhp/tonne laugh ,

Tim

I put my car on a weighbridge not so long ago,
1360kg was the outcome. At the time I had half a tank of petrol and a boot full of work stuff.

Sun roof, air con and the spiders I took into account still heavy for a light looking car

My subwoofer broke loose at Mallory, that thumped around in the boot for a lap smile Took it out, no difference. Perhaps a lead cased sub next?!
