Nice one, Jack. I want to see this when it's finished.

The main problems I'm having are probably the same that you will have - clearance around the alternator/PAS pump, finding somewhere to mount all the radiators and intercoolers, and the gearbox getting in the way of turning right...

barnacle - yeah its tight on the pas pump a rad will be a tight fit and intercooler will be a nightmare to keep hidden. Ive fitted the coupe subframe and rack/hubs so clearance for gearbox isnt a issue for me.

the front is coupe shocks/springs, with top mounts i found in a scrap yard that fitted the spring size and fitted into the punto hole, once its up and running i will get it upgraded

yeah shorty has done one, i msged him but like getting blood out of a stone to any info, according to all the post he has made he had to cut the bulk head and chasis and this is not needed well the way i have fitted it using the coupe subframe and rear mount

Pics needed - sounds like fun - even an HGT is only just over 1,000kg, so should be fairly handy, at least in a straight line

yeah it should be quick in a straight line corners is another story :D,
i was planning on making the front mounts up on sat but the fact theres over 2" of snow here plans might change

hopefully i can keep the weight under 1,000kg with it stripped out and sound proofing removed, with a flea stage 3 map should be lots of fun

what spec do you plan to use on the engine?

i.e turbo, head work ect!

also, this will be brilliant to see when finished!

Not sure on the weight. Standard 16v Tipo is 1180kg, add a 20vt turbo lump and everything else, reckon you will be looking 1250kg at least

a fmic that will fit
walbro 255
3" exhaust system
Induction kit/sip
a gt28rs or a hybrid stage 3 from flea
440cc injectors
no headwork on this engine will port match

once its up and running i will be buying a second engine and rebuilding/forging it for when this engine goes pop as i didnt pay much for it so dont really expect it to last a year of abuse but thats next years plan for BIG bhp

the kerb weight is 860kg for the model i have so with the extra weight of the engine it should still be under 1,000kg then with it stripped who knows will have to get it on a weight bridge

It will be interesting to compare with the Quantum. Joe has a weighbridge close to him so we should be able to get a good accurate weight for it.
