i'll drink to that!  i hope 'I' have a ride in it in 2011.... As i've had exactly.... ZERO rides in 2010! Fooooooooking engine rebuilds always take 5 times longer than they should! Well they do for me anyways! Pinin you'll be more than welcome to have a passenger ride if our paths cross...! Nick

yeah funny thing that they always do take way longer than estimated...whatever the estimate and whatever you think you have taken into consideration its one of the mysteries of the universe..
i was going to stop at around 5k as i have reservations about taking it above that on the mineral with new turbo and mains but i have thought about opening the wastegate and revving it higher also bbut i reckon 5k under load through the gears with boost should be enough..certainly better than the slowly aproach i would imagine it would be enough to get a good seal but not be too much
pinnin if you want a ride sir whenever it suits you sir

thats actually fairly acurate - if its true.
the company i used to work for a few years ago, had as its company cars ford focus's.
2.0 petrol zetec ones, from new i should add.
not being good enough at brown nosing i never had one, but often had to go places during the day and would take whichever was parked closest.
car 1, driven by a 60ish woman from accounts, i'd imagine it had never been past 3k rpm in her hands, felt very tight and strangled (they are not rockets anyway but you know)
car 2, driven by a 35-40 'jack the lad' wannabe, i'd imagine this one spent most of its life bouncing off the limiter, felt ALOT keener to drive, way less strangled anyway.
i dont know. I have the same situation at work. We have 3 Skoda Fabia VRS's. It is a diesel, but quick none the less and has a turbo. Two of them are people's company cars that they take home and one is a pool car that stays at work. The pool car has a noticable difference in grunt compared to the other two. Saying that, the turbo went bang while I drove it one day(luckily still under warranty), so I guess there's always two sides.
