Youll have to try and find one first.

Thing is... what's the point? Less horses than the 5 cylinder, more weight on the nose (although you'd have to move the battery to the boot) and you wouldn't say the sound is much better either.

Its the V8 engine from the Ferrari 308QV

Just under 3 litres and producing just 215bhp (205bhp in later catalytic converter equipped mode)

Here's the reasons you wouldn't want to put it in a Coupe

1) It won't fit
2) Its heavier
3) Only 9 were sold in the UK, so spares availability might be 'challenging'
4) Its a flat-plane crank, so it doesn't even sound like a Ferrari

Maybe a better project would be to put the later Coupe engine in the Thema and create a '5.20' laugh

Agreed - its already well-documented that the Thema 2.0 turbo (basically, the same engine as the 16vt and Integrale) was quicker than the post-cat 8.32 models, so a 20VT would be the fastest Thema by quite a margin

I don't mean to be picky, but the Ferrari has the flat-plane crank and the Lancia has a cross-plane crank.

Doh - wasn't thinking straight - of course, you're right - the vast majority of Ferraris are flat-plane, but the Thema used a cross-plane

commonly regarded as being from the 308 but its not, developed by ducatti I believe with a ferrari badge on it, uses no parts from the 308 at all, making spares an issue. better off actually trying to get a ferrari engine which is also very hard. How about an alfa v6 with 2 turbos!!!

Almost - it was based on the 308 lump and was assembled by Ducati

Surprisingly light though - the 8.32 was the heaviest of the entire Thema range, but it was still lighter than a 20vt

alloy block I'd guess then, chances are the older car was lower in crash resistance structures then the newer tipo floor. All very retro.....
