Swapped my Audi 1.8 T for the new love of my life on new years eve drove from Reading to Manchester and wished the trip was another 200 miles. it's a 1997 R reg 107k just had a new turbo and cam belt done. Any tips or advice would be great.

I do have an issue with my passenger wiper jet spray tube, It's not very flush as the drivers side and curls up in a loop and flaps around at speed was goona cable tie it but dont want it to break when its at full stroke.

Anby recommend a garage around Manchester but would not mind a dive for the right place.

Cheers in advance

Congrats in getting something with a bit more soul smile

the tubes are run down the wiper and are held in place by a 1.5 inch plastic 'gripper' (which is mounted on the underside of the wiper itself), is there one on the passenger side?

welcome to this great forum and community, and good luck with your car they are great fun!

i strongly suggest joining the club, for at a cost of £15 you'll get great discounts off goods and services to recoup the fee back many times over!!

if you can't find a good garage round there get to either midland car servicing or motormech, both about an hour from you and both brilliant mechanics on these cars - not to mention well priced!

Nice decision and a warm welcome indeed.

Owners of german marques tend to be level headed individuals, not the risky crowd of italian coops..he he he

Glad to see you on the forum

cheers

Be interesting to know how you came to your decision to swap for a coupe and your first thoughts ( obviously still in the honeymoon period/ or maybe it's not your first? )
without turning it into a Audi v coupe arguement. For instance, there was a thread wether the interior of a coupe was dated!

I have always wanted a coupe but could never afford the insurance but now I'm 29 it is alot better.

Up until the Coupe my first car was a greay fiat panda with a bull bar and a roof rack I dont know how it moved but I loved it.

I then had 205 xs very nippy and alot of people underestermated it then took the next step which was a 205 1.9 GTi which today is still the best handling car I have driven, had another 4 of those then a MK1 golf Gti then a 62 bug rotton as F£%K but put a smile on my face every time I drove it I supose being by the sea in Bournemouth helped.

Anyway sorry then the Audi A3 1.8 T, I liked the car alot very solid and feels a lot bigger than it is but I think the turbo came in to early around 1800 rpm so unless you did not have good front tyes you would wheel spin half a mile down the road.

Very comfy on the motorway had to watch my speed as would most times be doing 90 thinking I was around 70 abit to quite for me.

In the Coupe the other way round> The audi was full of computers so I think that is the reason the Coupe might look a little dated but the coupe has some colour and and a different shape the Audi interioer was very dark and dull a. You could proberbly smash it with a hammer and it would still not rattle but no soul.

Brain says Audi HEART says Coupe.
