I purchased my coop in september last year and it came with no alarm as the previous owner said he bump started the car one morning and the alarm wouldnt stop going off. So he had it removed! any ideas which alarm was fitted or where the alarm ecu would be located as im fed up of using the keys and would like to get a replacement unit with fobs thats if the ecu is not present if it is there i hear Abacus alarms can reprogramme it and supply me with new fobs? shes a 98 R plate. Any help appreciated guys.

Can be the other side of UK cars - this one was Belgian, same with German cars. ECU of UK cars can be just tucked up IN the wiring above the fuse panel (footwell, pull it down, look up). Then the siren is just a sirene. In other countries it was a combo of siren + ECU (and has a keyhole in the glovebox).

ok i cannot locate the ecu ive pulled the fuse rail down and had a good look. All i can see is a bunch of wires rolled up which i assume are the wires that go the alarm ecu as they arent plugged into anything?? any ideas which model may have been used as i could buy a replacement ecu and have it reprogrammed!??

sorted! rang abacus and its the M99T system that was previously fitted! if anyone else is having the same trouble hope this helps.

If the connections that plug into the back of the alarm ecu are:

2 White connectors = Meta M99T

2 Black connectors = M99T2.

hope this helps.
