Ahhh wonderful weather today, nice and warm, no snow no ice no rain. So I walked up an hour or so before I had to leave for my customer and thought "let's tackle that silly central locking problem". Trim remover in hand, lubrication thingies of all kinds, screwdriver, big hammer (okay, I'm overdoing it on that last one).

"Click" on the remote. I take the key to open the driver's door as well. Err... wait a minute... was the car already open? "Click" on the remote: everything closes. "Click" on the remote: everything opens. Darned bloody central locking's fixed itself!

So I put some lubricant on random items, removed some trim from the garage wall, screwed around with the screw driver, hit myself on the head with the hammer, got to the customer 40 minutes early.

Lovely isn't it, getting some garage-help from an Italian lady!

me too, the blowers use to randomly come on, freaky! so ..

10 mins to get the console out.
5 mins to apply gaffa tape and cable tie around the blower controller.
1 hour to put the bloody console back properly grr

still, no more ghosts in the electrics smile

Needless to say, the central locking is playing up again. MOST of the time it will open but not lock on the left door. Unless I use the key to lock - unlock then use remote again. Although at other times that will just unsync the remote and I have to lock - unlock right door and then left door, after which it will start working again. Sometimes.

I thought you had brought a new central locking controller Kayjey? Mine doesn't have the key fob so have always locked with the key, i now need to lock each door seperately as it refuses to do both from one door...it all started after my respray, so I guess something either got dusty or not fitted back correctly.

No, I had installed a new remote system. I've now replaced booth door lock modules with sensors and motors (pain to fit!) and all is well again. 80 euro per side brand new from Fiat.

Mine does this too. Sorted itself out and works fine at the moment.

No doubt it will go wrong again!

Definately. Seemed to depend on outside temperature on mine. Not only when freezing but also when very hot.
