I bet you could think of 100's of films you would like to see a Coupe in More rare though, saw it the other day anyone familiar with the 1971 Speilberg film 'Duel' about the crazed truck who terrorises the small underpowered car?, I'd actually love to be behind (or soon in front ) of that truck now in my 20VT with him playing his games ha. But... imagine coming to that steep hill & the coolant hose of death goes .... maybe it would become reality

I like films like this - I can't stand films that are nothing but special effects/animation & stunts, pretty much the reason I don't watch new films nowadays I agree - same reason that I like Poltergeist - my kids can't see the appeal As for films the Coupe should have been in - Star Wars, because it will out-accelerate the Millennium Falcon (in 3rd gear, anyway)

LOL.. funny one Nigel
I think the best movie would be "The Italian Job" using 3 coops (obviously in 3 bold colors).
Anyway related to issue, which movies actually have a coop?

The Coupe would be useless in a movie car chase scene.
It'd have to be driven off boost for about 10 minutes to let it warm up properly, meaning the bad guys would get away.

And anywhere remotely cold would be a no-no. they'd have to stand outside with a hairdryer thoring the iced up doors.

How about Bullitt? Wouldn't have taken Mc Queen long to have ripped the skid plates off the bottom, and then the sump and belts with it.
Would have been better on the the twisty bits though.

Can't help feeling that any comment on such a film might have the same sort of feel as this review of a well-known book:
"Although written many years ago, Lady Chatterley's Lover has just been reissued by Grove Press, and this fictional account of the day-by-day life of an English gamekeeper is still of considerable interest to outdoor-minded readers, as it contains many passages on pheasant-raising, the apprehending of poachers, ways to control vermin, and other chores and duties of the professional gamekeeper. Unfortunately, one is obliged to wade through many pages of extraneous material in order to discover and savour these sidelights on the management of a Midland shooting estate, and in this reviewer's opinion this book cannot take the place of J. R. Miller's Practical Gamekeeping."

Anyway back on topic... the question remains is there any proper movie which features a coop?

The Spy Who Loved Me
James Bond is driving a pearl white Coupe at breakneck speeds while being chased by a helicopter firing wildly at him.
''Can you swim?'' he asks his female companion as he drives straight off a pier into the sea.
The Coupe switches into submarine mode.
Suddenly they hear the sound of water leaking in from somewhere. Oh dear, it's coming in through the holes behind the rear quarter Pininfarina badges.

Regarding 'Q' - curiously, the IMDB site makes no mention of the Coupe. You'd think they'd realise what was actually important! Amazon don't mention the Coupe, either. Mind you, Field and Stream Magazine had the same problem when it reviewed a book... "Although written many years ago, Lady Chatterley's Lover has just been reissued by the Grove Press, and this fictional account of the day-to-day life of an English gamekeeper is still of considerable interest to outdoor minded readers, as it contains many passages on pheasant raising, the apprehending of poachers, ways to control vermin, and other chores and duties of the professional gamekeeper.
"Unfortunately, one is obliged to wade through many pages of extraneous material in order to discover and savor these sidelights on the management of a Midlands shooting estate, and in this reviewer's opinion this book cannot take the place of J.R. Miller's Practical Gamekeeping" (Ed Zern, Field and Stream, November 1959, p. 142).

Dodgy looking rear number plate, is it from France, or Italy? Any other shots you'd care to share Graham?
