I want to upgrade the headlights on me coop to HID's but i'm unsure of where to turn really.

what kind of kit and where from would i need?
anyone reccomend anything inpaticular?

Cant be doing with the poor quality of the lights anymore. need something better.

I would recomend temp of 4300K and 55w version with slim ballasts. This gives the most visible light. Search ebay for the above in size H1. Should cost around £60

I bought a set of THESE for £28.34.

They are the 6000K 55w but with the older larger balast.

Make sure you order H1 fitment.

6000 are the only ones to give pure white light

The 4300K may look yellow compared to 6000 or 8000, but they are really the whitest and std fitted on most factory cars today. You will not find a factory fitted 6000K HID.
6000K on my Punto are blueish, which is why I bought 4300K for my Coupe.

It's a matter of taste but the 4300 do give out more light over the spectrum visible by human eyes so they will appear brighter and visibility will be slightly better. However all hids are infinitely better than even the best halogen.

I've just fitted 8000k's to mine and they're 100 times better than before but they do have a blue tint to them.
Main thing is I can now see the road at night which helps :-)

I thought I would add my own experiece here.

I fitted a bulb set with 35W H1 6000k. The colour looks great, but the brightness is not much better than standard.

I have now purchases a 55w H1 6000k set and the difference is huge.

The link to ebay on this link is for 35W only, I would strongly recommend 55w.

Are these ok? Because I was going to buy them at this price!

I'm not an expert on Hids, but that last one looks OK.

Remember though, my set took a month to arrive from China.

I've bought a new 35W HID kit and it's crap! It's very dim and not much better than the standard candles imo. Guess I will be getting a 55W set soon.

i'm actually really annoyed that i've ordered 35w HID's now, i wish i spent the extra 8 quid on 55w set! ahhh i guess i'll have to wait for them to turn up before i can do anything!!

I've got 35w 6k HID's and they are amazing, I can see my light outperforming most other car lights on the road.
I would check the level of your lights and that you have the lamps seated correctly, also some lamps may take a while for them to get up to temperature.
My set was not cheap @ £120 but also this was a couple of years back. 2yrs on I've not had to touch them, they're still going strong.

i'll install mine and try them! hopefully they will be good..... wont know untill i get them delivered though i guess. been a week waiting already

well, dispite ordering 4300k h1 bulbs i some how ended up with a kit containing H7 bulbs at 6000k, i must say i am seriously not a happy bunny!! and worst of all i cant get hold of anyone to sort it out, you e-mail them and no one wants to talk to you or replys, they have no p[hone number listed on their website. its stupid, looks like i might as well of just thrown my 60 quid out the window on the motorway..... i dont like to slate companies but dont ever ever use the one i did!! (light in the box) complete waste of space and useless wan@%£s
