You really have had bad luck following you around recently. Finger's crossed you can rebuild the back end without cost to you, and have your fortunes change in time for Spring and Coupe weather.

Well, small update.

Just spoken to the guy...

He cannot afford the repair job to pay cash.

Looks like it's going to be an insurance job.

Does any one know if admiral let you buy the car back??

Keep possession of your car, do not give them any original documents unless or until you have reached a satisfactory agreement with them. By all means let them have copies.

It remains your property until then.

Think of the problems Porkypaul went through when his car was damaged and the insurers took it away.

Ultimately your claim is against the insurers of the other vehicle, you should be put in the position you were pre accident, including re-imbursement of any excess you have had to pay your insurers.

It will be a fight, but it can be won.

I did when some clown allowed a large fence to collapse on my immaculate old BXGTi

Good luck Marco.

I am expecting serious hassle from insurance over cost of the car.
I will win it no matter what, I'm sure the forum holds all the info I need on price comparrison!

Bit I want to buy it back, it deserves to live on... Not get scrapped or torn apart.

How do you buy the car back?

Just ask?

Easy to buy it back and i will go through buy back valuation etc etc it may be a repair...
Getting value up isnt hard either.
I hope the 3rd party is not with an aukward company as some are slow but i will be able to tell you what there like straight away and will slash the process times im dealing with a few cases like this right now.

damage doesnt look terminal but I guess its what lies underneath. Shame lad couldnt pay you in cash, sure his premium next yr will increase by £1000 anyway. Would be worth him borrowing it would work out cheaper for him in the long run.

Gutted for you also Marco. Stand firm, take advice from those here who can help or have suffered the same. All the best hope she'll be running again, as you say, she's too good to scrap frown

Gutted for you mate, But the picture you painted in the first post would seem it was badly damaged,

Luckily as we can all see its not, and can be fixed with ease... Just the fight you would have in keeping it from write off is a different story..

Part of having nice looking cars, quick cars, albeit with almost no value to an insurance company.

Fix it locally and be happy its not alot worse Marco,

Chrissy

Marco, there must be someone on here with some rear-end Sprinty bits (come to the midlands meet with some spanners - Theresa will be staying overnight rofl ).

Doesn't look terminal - no insurance expert, but surely you can insist that as these are specialist cars they need specialist repairs, not the insurance company's local cheapo (but expensive) muppets. FFS it would save the insurance company money if they could be more flexible....

Good luck mate...

PS A tractor reversed into my van last year - one rear door for a Toyota Hiace....... insurance job through the NFU cost £1300 and the paint didn't match (a WHITE VAN punch ). I checked with Toyota afterwards and a new ready painted-door was under £300. Half an hour to fit.... silly
