Today is poopy-pants day, as it turned out underpant's stay Daz white as she gets a pass. Ok the advisory list is a novel in itself, most lines starting with 'Rusty' or 'Corroded' but a pass is a pass in any dictionary.
There was one snag, MOT chap (by garage convention his name was Dave) explained that he would not normally pass a car if he couldn't see under the hood as he went on to explain that the bonnet release didn't work... 'Wha!!' the word association between 'Mechanic' and 'Big spanner or Hammer' come to mind.
The 'screwdriver' how-to method would not work for me, seems it did not obey Newton's third law. Long 6mm allen key popped the hood easy as a peasy pie (leverage and a shove of the catch retaining spring in the optimum direction).
