wrong way around,to make it easy to remember think like this:
the actuator rod pushes open the wastegate,if the rod is shorter it will take the spring longer to open the gate as it has to travel further.

shorten the rod to increase the preload = more higher base boost response.

aaah, the old days on my R5, I used to cut off about 2 inches from the wastegate rod, then wind up the poor little T2 to about 2bar & see how long she runs ! laugh


them 5 lumps were bombpoof ( providing you re-jetted the carb right wink )

basic guide is to use a bike pump to press it such that the rod moves at about 0.7bar

if you don't know what you are doing, don't TOUCH evil
