Drop them by about 5 - 7 psi, check after a session and see if it needs lowering some more

I would be inclined to drop them down by double that, perhaps down to mid 20 psi, and see how it feels when you get some heat into them.

Where are you going?

Used to drive on a small technical track in France, we always dropped fronts to 2 bar after a warm-up lap, rears to 2.2 and adjusted them to more to have some play from the rear, less to get it in line. Alwas took that as a good starting point, made the car feel very progressive and not snappy. That said, when we just went for laptimes, we added a good .2 to .3 bar to optimise grip, but most cars would be more critical on the limit then. As was proven by one of the guys in a Porsche Boxster S who came in after 2 laps and said "I am going to try to run the book pressures now and see what we get".
