anyone know about these, they don't list the size but they seem to be a 2 piece disc to fit the std caliper and possible the std wheel.
They are £400 though shocked

Possibly from when Suba did a kit from compbrake for the coupe - using bigger calipers and discs at the front (you needed 17" wheels though). They also did a kit for the back too.

It should all be on the Balance Motorsport website.

They may cost a lot, but if it helps stop the warping (which it should do, a lot of the Mitsi Evo owners has similar problems with there brake discs and Brembo calipers) then they should last longer than a normal / uprated set of discs, especially if you track the car.

You will also find, that if you need to replace the disc, it will probably be half the price, as you won't need to buy the top hats again

I had these:

http://www.compbrake.co.uk/Cars/Fiat/20v...OT/prod_72.html

and these - in solid variety:

http://www.compbrake.co.uk/Brakes/Rear-B...RS/prod_73.html

I think that the ones you are referring to are a replacement for the stock disc. If this is the case then they are not expensive for what you get - a two piece disc, that is very unlikely to warp, which is a common occurrence with the coupe brakes if you push them very hard as they get little airflow, and there's a lot of weight up front for them to handle.

suba did you run the 350 or 335 as even with 17 inch team dynamics i cant see how they will fit`..i have just done a trade for a set of 335 and was wondering if i could get the bigger discs but there is no room at all unless i buy 18s which will be no good on track..which wheels did you use?as i would much prefer to run the larger if possible

I ran the 330's (pretty sure that that was the size) - with Team dynamics pro race 2's in 17 inch variety - there's loads of space, and you really dont need to go bigger on the disc with the weight of the car.

You'll need to upgrade the caliper and space it to fit the disc as well as use custom lines... though I'm sure you know this already.

I am aware of suba's setup, but these look like they maybe 305mm and designed to go under std wheels with std calipers?

I didn't know if anyone new about them?

If you got them from anthrax then yes - they used to be mine.

Get them on the car and find out! :-) laugh

its going to be a while before i get to fit them on a car and drive it ..i had been contemplating buying the alfa 330's or the porsche set up barbz has if i could source all the components cheaply enough as i know nothing of these and the others are tried and tested..i have done a trade for them so would like to know if its worth giving up the search for second hand calipers and sticking with these and having them fitted

You have to be careful with the pads sizes as compbrake use a 50mm pad and the alfa set-up is the 60mm.

Watching Anthrax at Curborough with them, he managed to lock the wheels, even though he had ABS enabled on the car, think that should tell you something laugh

I've known about these two-piece discs for quite a while and I was simply waiting until I could afford the £400 for a pair

I've now got some cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I thought I'd do a bit of research before splashing out the cash

Glad I did shocked - do a Google search for "compbrake prolems" and see how many complaints there are from a wide range of car forums, ranging from grooves wearing out in 1,000 miles of road use, through to calipers not fitting, bleed nipples leaking, caliper piston seals failing and downright shoddy customer service.

Lucky escape, methinks.....

Nigel - I'll agree with that to some degree. You do have to be VERY firm with them to get them to get them doing what you want them to. It was a while ago when I used them, but I did find that their service once they had your money was poor until you stamped your feet a bit. crazy

I had no issues with bleed nipples, or disc wear, but one of the screws for a guide did have to be filed back to stop it touching the disc on first install.

I'm sure that a lot of people buy the kits and then install them themselves, which might account for the issues if they do not know what they are doing.
