We are now sponsored by Motorhog
Motorhog

Apparently the UKs largest dismantlers...anyways theyve said to just tell em what we want!!!

So question is - what should i be asking for
Car has been sat 3 years in my yard (Now in final stages of prep should be orange in a week or so)

Had it up on a ramp and asked a good mechanic to give us the nod if he thought it would make the journey - he said it should just about - that was before motorhog got involved!!!

SO what sort of stuff do you think will be good from a used coupe - id imagine there are certain parts that are no good second hand and you gotta buy new ???

Also maybe even whack in a few parts from other cars/eg: Alfa leathers maybe? DUnno

So what would you ask for if you had a 1999 NA and support from these guys? Whilst i have the abiity to haggle and negotiate I am a mechanical retard.

Cheers people

Cheers lads - as i say Motorhog have just given us carte blanche so to speak and whatever we ask for they will accomodate - but obviously i cant ask for a 20vt lump - but everything is fair game - if i can build a list from your recommendations i just hand it to the boss next week and hey presto...

Turbo, good condition full set of coolant hoses, cambelt change, wheel bearings (they get 'dimpled' when sitting still - unless the car was off the ground). Should do it.

Then fluid change plus brake refurb (cleanup) should get the car ready to be honest. They're not fragile cars them 20v's. (Nor the turbo's, but they've mostly had a hard life round road and track so current mileages are bound to bring some problems.)

*Complete* set of fuses, relays, bulbs, timers.

There are fuses and relays scattered all over the place.

If it's a vis maybe the throttle position sensor, spare coil packs /injectors and other items like that you can do at the side of the road; assuming you're aloud to make running repairs.
