you can see the inside of the drivers bolster in pic 4 and it looks in excellent condition - but like mike says, top money....if you have that to spend, get a Plus wink

top money? 5.2k

when there is a forum member wanting to sell one for 7k??!

it's about time the decent examples were being put at these prices to get out of this mentality that any well looked after LE/Plus above 4k is overpriced. What's worse is that this is perpetuated by members on a supposed enthusiast forum.

Good examples of the breed (whether 16s, 20s, LEs or Pluses) should be worth this sort of money - style, performance and individuality. There are however quite a few unloved old dogs out there, which has depressed the market prices of the good 'uns rolleyes .

It depends how quickly you want to sell it. Asking higher prices will only reduce demand.

Well said Duncan thumb, not just to bolster used values, but to achive real credability of the breed for the future

Perhaps people should insure their coupes with specialist insurers at their true replacement cost.

From April mine is insured for an agreed value of £5k. I would need to spend at least that much to achieve a truly equivalent replacement.

I'll be doing the same when mine comes around in Oct. Did it cost much more than the usual renewal Pete? Which companies are coupe friendly for mods. and guaranteed values?

Neil willies if very mod friendly and Indemnifies you to an agreed value.
It is a pain setting up though, as you have to supply them with your service history, bills and get a club rep or coupe specialist to write to them to confirm a realistic value.
I currently have mine set at £4500, but after I have my new turbo, fleamap, bodywork and respray i'm going to attempt to have this increased to £6000.
Track days are included too. Cost me just under £400.

Back on thread, I'm all for promoting the hike in value of plus and LE models cool This will of course drag up the value of all coupes too.

Let's stop trying to say that people who are attempting to sell their coupes for big bucks have overpriced them grr

£6k for a tiptop LE or Plus is definately not too much. In fact I think with specialists popping up this has increased the value of our cars. It's now also possible tp have them fixed at realisticprices which means write-offs should be rarer.

The good ones are definately getting rare, so why shouldnt the price of a good one be slightly higher.

The price can go up and up, but that wouldn't make any difference unless someone pays that price, which ends up in someone else paying that price too and so on, which doesn't look likely.

There are Plus and LE models that I know of that have sold for 5k or more.

It doesn't look likely?? ... Seriously, rolleyes No-one is going to drop the price of a mint example on the basis that a similar one in that condition sold and is therefore unlikely to get a similar price. If anything, that would hold the prices of mint examples.

you've got some seriously flawed logic.

Modifications are fine, the cover cost about £80 more than the standard Admiral Multicar insurance Ross, and as Mario mentioned it has been arranged through Neil Willies.

I would love to see the coupe price rise, over the years it has fallen and fallen, now to me it appears to have stabilized and hopefully will rise.

I didn't mention 5k.

Maybe it's just me, but because someone thinks their car is valued at x amount, it would help if someone pays x amount, whilist there are some in the same condition with simliar milage and s/h going for a lower price

I have some ""seriously" flawed logic laugh

I will probably never sell my coupe so I dont really care that much love

There is no such thing as overpriced, either it will attract interest or it wont. One thing is for certain, "market value" will do what it wants and you cant artificially adjust it. There are plenty of good Coupes out there that would be described as very cheap for what they are. My LE wasnt totally mint but it was very good and needed nothing, I set the asking price realistically for it to sell within a couple of weeks, and it did. If I had asked for more it would still be for sale now.
