Uprated... the 255 relates to litres per hour, more fuel, more power - or rather the uprated fuel pump will flow the extra fuel a tuned engine will require so be safer and better..

Ah ok got it.
But presumably more mods needed than just an uprated fuel pump?
Or to put it better, more mods ON TOP of an uprated fuel pump needed to get the benefit?

Yup other than piece of mind - if you're pretty standard, y0u could just do a direct power feed to the standard one - search on the forum for something like fuel pump wiring mod. Better voltage = Better efficiency. This is coming from someone who's selling his walbro already fitted into the standard carrier.

What would actually warrant putting the uprated pump on?
