Hi all,

just want to say a big thanks to Barbz for working on my car yesterday until late at night to get it finished.

I arrived just after midday just to catch up then nipped home to get some bits and then left some time later with a Barbz hybrid turbo (Gti rsr) fitted, fmic fitted, my apexi avc-r fitted and suspension changed back to standard (tired of scraping my bumper lip and going over speed bumps at 2mph!)

My fmic was butchered by me a few years back, I cut off all the brackets so Barbz had to fabricate a bracket after a few minutes of head scratching (mostly by me). I have had the intercooler and pipework sat in my garage for a good few years since I had my old green coupe, I now have an evo 7 fmic fitted which looks almost OE with the bumper removed. love

The car feels very quick on the road with a nice wack of torque from around 3k revs or just below, spool up is probably helped by a few extra bits done by Barbz. It feels very smooth also and holds boost right through the rev range, I almost swore when I put my foot down in 2nd for the first time! laugh

I will have to take it easy until I get it mapped, my wideband gauge shows I am hitting high 10s afr at the top end with a Gtec1 higher fuelling at around 1.1bar so probably good for cooling but risk of bore wash.

Some unexpected but very welcome upgrades! smile

Cheers
John

Sounds good mate!!

Shouldn't you be looking at gtech 2 now anyways? You've got the FMIC and gtech 2 has more advance and better fuelling for bigger turbos!

You have said getting it mapped though. laugh

Hi mate,

I have a Gtec 2, will probably put it in tomorrow just to see how it gets on with the set up....... I want to get it mapped to be safe and then the spending must stop!

As you know I planned to keep this coupe standardish but seemed to have given in a bit! laugh

Cheers
John

Where abouts are you Rudi? I'm in Sutton and the only coupes I see in the area are Sprinties!
