Never seen a release bearing like that, where the top half has sheared clean off.
If only 3 bolts were in the box then maybe this has played a part in causing the failure.
As to why they werent in is a mystery to me,its as easy to replace all 6 as it is to put one in.
I take it your car is working now,and there were no issues with the threads or the casings which resulted in the bolts being missing?

It all looks ok now, but will have to see with time. For the first time I can drive the car normally, which is a blessing.

Are you dropping the issue then? Or has a resolution been met?

This is a different thread Ross, the other was locked at the OP's request.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
I even unplugged my own.

I agree it was the first time we met and remember it well. I think I was perhaps one of the first people in the club you spoke to right - I was trying to be friendly to the new coupe owner! Now look at you - El Presidente!

Yep, and in my view this one should have been locked too.

Clearly the poster of the original thread was OK and would have not posted further on the subject were it not for this thread. Even within this thread and there's lots of violent agreement about the fact that specialist does not mean an omniscient being without fault.

This thread is just resurrecting a subject matter that most club members posting in it have agreed should not be primarily dealt with in open forum.

Is it not time to do the sensible thing that the majority want to see?

To be honest, one of the reasons for my above question. To find out whether a resolution has been had, hence ending the witch hunt and more focus on the postive outcome.

I'm not looking for any compensation and will leave the matter be now.

Mario,

You're reading this clearly.

Please can you raise locking this one with the mod community in light of the comments made in the thread re its largely destructive value and impropriety for dealing with the underlying issue.

Thanks
Steve

After which post was it that you felt it got worse?

Not sure what you mean Ross - I don't think my comment to Mario is rude. If Mario thinks otherwise I'm sure he will PM me and we can discuss.

I was trying to make light jokes in the grim thread. My intention was always to suggest it be brought to an end at an opportune momement.

You said the same thing as me mate, as did the man who originally had the problem hence I thought that was the right time.

I quoted you, because I felt like you had only put that post in after my comment. Whereas before there was no mention of it being locked.

My apologies.

Back on topic. If no specialist named, no foul play, no lost business? Biggenz is gonna move on and not cause issue. Obviously there has been an agreement not to proceed. Maybe JBT's first post should be a sticky, before people post about a problem to take a second to consider the consequences?
