After removing my spare wheel my carpet is sagging and cant hold much. I know this is expected but do any of you guys have any good TIDY ideas of making it stronger? Ta smile

Needed: saw + some wood. The sides of the wheel well are rounded so if you make it the right size, it'll drop in flat and sit tight against the walls so not drop any further.

wheel well needs bridging with a suitable thickness ply smile

Ah but the battery placement conversion sounds complicated! Cheers guys I will measure out the right size and get the jigsaw out! Will need to be VERy precise though! Sure it wont be straight forward smile

You could just fix a few lengths/strips of ply to the underside of the carpet that span the full width.

I wonder if a good contact adhesive would work? After all, it wouldn't need to stand up to a lot of abuse.

Poopcoop's already done the modification that you need and was selling it on here a few weeks ago; chances are he's still got it so maybe worth dropping him a PM?

What Phil did was to unpick the stitching on one side of the standard boot carpet, slide out the 6mm board that's in there and replace it with 18mm MDF. Use the original boards as templates and you get a perfect fit. Then get the edges stitched up again and job done.

Having seen this myself, it looks totally stock and factory. cool
