Anyone see the 5th gear episode featuring the guy with the supercar collection. I noticed the rear lights on the swedes were round and inset like ours and thought they looked much better than the standard round items some of our chaps are using.

Have a looky here , I reckon they would look great on a coop!

They look about the right size - although it's difficult to tell whether they are from a photo.

The light surrounds do look quite funky.

Didn't see it, but IIRC pics of the car were on the old forum because of the similarity of the rear lights.

I don't have rear light rings at the moment because they don't really float my boat, but if there was a set like these then I'd have a set!

Thought that was the case but was doubting my memory

I think I'll see if I can find a contact number for a Koenigsegg parts department and get a price

Have you had a price KP?

I've emailed them, see what they say

Another option is to have some replicas made.

Why not? You'd have to replace the rear lights but possible. Much easier to get some of the ones in the top link made up though.

With just over 2000 registered on the forum, I think it will have to be more than a tenner each !

Why buy them from Koenigsegg. They'd probably charge you £400 for a bit of simple moulded plastic.

They're anodised aluminium, but yeah, I'm sure they'd be quite expensive.

Going to contact some local engineering/manufacturing companies to see what they can do. I guess they would need to have a light and also the cone too to check clearace between the two.

Yeah, I spoke to a local manufacturer and described what I wanted and he said it wouldn't be a problem at all. We agreed that I'd send him some pics of the type of surround I want and he would give me a price.

I then went away for a couple of weeks, and emailed him the pics when I got back. That was some weeks ago and I've not had a reply.

I need to give him a bell and see whats going on.

I'll update this thread when I get an update.

Paul,

The pic shows the car fitted with KYB dampers using Novitec rear springs and standard front springs.

And a little blurred : http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b329/zak20vt/IMAGE_015.jpg

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b329/zak20vt/IMAGE_012.jpg

I've since changed to the Bilstein/Eibach combination and there is a slight increase in ride height, but nothing really noticeable. I don't have any pics with the new suspension yet, but will send you a message when I manage to take some.

Personally, I think once a Coop is lowered with non-std alloys and fitted with skirts, they really look the business. Have never been a fan of the quad-spoked alloys, I know I'm opening myself up to a barrage of flak from the purists

I really like the design of the standard 20VT alloys, maybe even more than the Plus ones. I changed the Plus wheels because I just wanted something that would fill the arches up more. The standard 20VT wheels would be awesome in 18" !

On the old forum, a guy used photshop to show what the coops original wheels would look like in 17 and 18 inch. As you say, they looked awesome.

Oh and please stop posting in this thread. I keep getting all excited thinking you have news on the light surrounds
