On what? Raced prepped rally car? Yes

On everything else no IMO had it on my scooby and unless you pay good money for a decent ECU, it isn't any where near aggressive enough. I had a MoTeC and it was really aggressive but still didn't really help in the twisties or track. Even bogged down at times

Now is it worth it for pops, bangs and flames. Absolutely lol I've asked Flea if it's something he can do. Problem is whether turbo, exhaust manifold, valves etc can take it

Depends on the use of the car really, if you want the edge to win a rally, have £3000 to spend on a maram turbine wheel and shaft then yes it's worth it. Anything else is a mild version of als that will make all the right noises but do little for lag response in real life and depending on how aggressive you set it will need a limit timer to cut it before the massive heat generated in the exhaust starts damaging things.

Grp A wrc cars don't run als anymore these days by the way.

Not much point on a road car, I seem to remember Flea posting that it wasn't very useful either.

It was last night, a guy who does his own race cars seen the fiat and explained it was worth considering as he knew someone with one with the same car with anti lag.

I asked him about remaps, larger parts etc but he swears down it was something that made the fiat performed well in but if it's a money pit and of course for the road then it's not worth it.

Besides I hardly want to come home sounding like I've shot half the general public every night wink

It's on a switch mate. If you ran it constantly you would melt everything( including rear bumper)

Personally I'm a kid and loved it. If Flea could do it I'd happily be a donar car. Pop pop bang flame is always a chuckle. Private land of course

anti lag doesnt bog down at all if set up properly the cost is big though for ie the turbos that have the Marum shaft because of the extra heat and the ecu set up.

alot of the cossie boys run ALS for the hillclimbs with very good results.

on a fiat could be very interesting.

ive seen a youtube vid of a coupe with ALS dont know what country it came from though

Mine was just an option on the ECU so not sure how fine tuned it could go. Wasn't used for competitions so didn't bother me.

Ran it through bigger turbo and had no issues. Not sure how the coupe exhaust manifold would cope.

Very nice I guess but I'd only want it for the wrong reasons but after watching that video, I can see why he was going on about it.

Not exactly, antilag combined with launch control allows me to launch at 3000 rpm on the quarter mile with enough power so the car doesn't stall, all this with a 450 hp turbo... in that video it was wet and launch control was set to 5000rpm, by launching at 3000rpm i can get more traction out of the car in 1st gear on a dry strip..

What ECU are you using to achieve ALS and LC out of interest?

Do you have any more info on the ECU. Im a sucker for ALS.

How does your manifold and turbo hold up?

anti lag is NOT for launching, thats launch control, anti lag keeps the turbo spinning when you are below a set throttle position (for instance 10% throttle) so that when you are doing tight turns etc the turbo is ready to go again when the throttle is pressed again,or between gearchanges.
for the op,yes its worth it if you can afford it,but, you will experience VERY high exhaust temperatures and if you are running proper rally spec anti lag you will need a maram 247 shaft on the turbo, these are as expensive as the turbo themselves, they are needed due to the heat.but you can get away with a mild set up (ie 0psi boost instead of vacuum off throttle, instead of positive boost off throttle) with a non maram shafted turbo.when engaged it will effectively make your car feel like it has a bigger engine rather than a small turbo engine.
