After leaving my car with Barbz to fettle an oil consumption issue, he's spent some time altering various tolerances etc, and basically doing what he does best.

With the change to a different compressor wheel, a re-map was required so a quick trip to my mapper was needed.
Not having much time, he only mapped it to just above 6k but the results are very promising.
462bhp@5978
457lbs/ft

Driving the car, the 20+ extra horsepower is instantly noticeable and the relentless shove from 3k is totally addictive.
Even the great man himself was gobsmacked as we pulled out of a bend, going through a village at 1200rmp in 6th!! shocked

The engine is awesome. Crisp, un-stressed and above all, extremely tractable right through the rev range.
Will see how much more can be extracted at the top end before the manifold/exhaust set-up reaches it's limit.

The printer was goosed after 1 graph, which Barbz is in posession of. I'll get some more when i can.

As for the oil consumption, never used a single drop yipee

Barbz, you da man bow

This is how it should have come out of Torino!

To be perfectly honest, i've lost track.
I'm sure Barbz will pop up with some spec list if you pester him enough, i can't keep up with all his tinkering laugh

Guys, i'm not after the ultimate headline figures as my set-up is geared more around driveability than all-out power.

My car is seriously overweight, my choice, but it's a comfortable atmosphere for relaxed, long distant trips to Europe and all those coop meets that seem a million miles from up here!
I don't want to have to rag the nuts off it to get to where i'm going quickly, i want a mile-munching GT cruiser that can also mix it with the big boys when the need arises wink

80kg of soundproofing plus a fully leather-trimmed interior and the need for reliability has thankfully stopped me from hurling it round tracks and drag strips. That's why i've built it the way i have.

I need the torque more than the horsepower but Barbz's technical knowledge and experience has given me probably the most driveable engine out there.
The mountain of torque was a necessity, the unexpected power is a welcome bonus.

My engine has been a test bed for Barbz for the last 30-odd k miles.
Whatever technical/engineering/tuning work has been carried out is for Barbz to expand on, or not.
I would have been at this stage a long time ago, had Barbz not absconded for a while, but now that he's back the tweaking will continue.
There are still new things he would like to try out, which ultimately will be for other's benefit, and so the R+D test bed takes another step forward.

As for the general specs, other than the forged 2.4 configuration, i'm simply running a GT3076 on a ported standard manifold, 720cc injectors, uprated oil cooler and DTA engine management.

I'm not one for on-board gizmos, altering settings, changing this and that etc.
I think my car looks cluttered when the satnav is on the dash laugh
Everything is locked in the map, i just start her up and drive away. Simples!

This is how it should have come out of Torino!
