The wires on these leds are really thin!
What coloured wires do I need to cut into?

work out what is the + and - for the led's using a battery charger as they will only work one way round , look at the grey plug thats comes from the break light and you should have 3 wires orange , white , black . use a electrical screw driver and remove the pins black and white wires and leave the orange wire in the plug from the back of the plug , use a spade connector that you will need to cut down so it fits into the grey connector wiring from the car , put the white pin into the middle slot and connect the + from the leds ( using the cut down spade connecter to the yellow wire slot and the - to the black slot along with the black wire you disconnected from the plug onto the grey connector in the car ( it could be the other way around but i think i'v got it right ) , put your side lights on and all 4 rings should light up , press the break and you break bulbs should come on , then just check the rest of your lights , hazzards , revearse , fog .

Thanks mate,
Spent 10mins today rushing it before work but now my rear lights don't work!
Assuming it could be the relay as the everything else works when lights are on, checked all bulbs, fuses and still nothing... Joy

Yep this has been done. get a spare set of bottom lights and remove lens and replace on the top Cheers Tony and yes, that's what I was thinking of doing How good/orange are the indicators behind the red lens? I don't want any accidents or problems, with people claiming they didn't see me indicating.

Yeah I would love to have my rear lights all red, but the indicators flashing pink/red really puts me off.

Anyone else done this themselves yet? I should have time to attempt the wiring later or by Sunday anyway All leds are in, light units sealed back up, + and - wires from leds labelled, spade connectors bought. I just need to study the rest of the instructions now and get my head around which wire goes to where lol Any tips? Do's and don't's?

Orange is positive, black negative, leave the white wire. So where nismo has said this, I should ignore? use a electrical screw driver and remove the pins black and white wires and leave the orange wire in the plug from the back of the plug ,
put the white pin into the middle slot and do this instead: Remove the black and orange and leave the white and put the orange one into the middle slot instead of the white?

I didnt even take it out of the plug, I just cut and taped a few inches away from it.
leave the white one as it is. Below is info Jame5 sent me, might come in handy.
'Ok, first take the wires from both your led strips, split the first few inches. There should be one silver and one copper on each, take the silvers and twist together and do the same with the copper ones. Now test them to find out which is positive and which is negative (poke one in the plug going to the orange wire and poke the other in the black wire hole, if the leds don't light up swap them over). Now connect the the led wires to the wires going to the bulbs one to the black one to the orange. Check all the leds are working, they should be on with the side lights and get brighter with the brake lights. You can leave then like this but it makes it really difficult to see the brake lights. If you now snip the orange wire somewhere between the connector for the leds and the bulb your leds will stay on but the normal bulb will only come on when braking making it much more noticable'

how to - link to ebay for the led strip's - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-30CM-30-Red-LE...=item4cf118527c1. Get a flat headed screw driver and work your way around the rim slowly so you hear the glue crack it may take some time on the first one until you know how they come apart 2. Remove the lense and clean inside and clean the light reflector but don't rub to hard as you take the coating off 3. Cut the last 3 led's with a sharp knife from the strip but be very carefull 4. Insert the led strips with the led's facing toward the lense and they should be a snug fit so no need to glue , turn over and check they are still working on and 9v battery or battery charge but nothing over 12v 5. Put the wire threw the slit in the light housing and use super glue around the rim and glue back together , turn over and check they are still working 6. now for the wiring , you only need to use the wiring from the brake lights , open the grey plug and slide a thin flat headed screwdriver down the back of the plug to remove the black and white pins leaving the orange pin in the grey plug as you don't need to use this 7. Cut the led wires down to the right length and attach some of the wire you have cut off to the ends of the led wire + and - for power feeds for the leds in the bottom lights 8. Wrap the - from the leds around the black wire pin and tape up so you get no shorts 9. Get a spade connector and cut it down to the same size as the other pins and connect it to the + wire from the leds and tape it , you can also put some tape around the white wire pin so you get no shorting 10. Do step 1 to 4 the same for the bottom lense but you may need to cut 2 small pegs in the lense to make the led strip sit nicely 11. You will see that the housing had a divider that will need to be trimmed a little with a hacksaw so that the leds will fit over the devider 12. Put the wire threw the slit in the light housing and use super glue around the rim and glue back together , turn over and check they are still working 13. They are ready to fit in the car , black pin goes to black , white pin goes in the middle , the spade connecter from step 9 goes to yellow on the grey plug in the car , then connect the + and - wires from the bottom light leds to the wires that you left in step 7 for the power . 14. If your lenses are a bit dull use some compound and they will come up nice from too 15. Turn on the lights and see what a good job you have done for very little layout , if you do have any problems just PM me and i'll try and help you out Nismo ............ PS , thanks to Bosco for the idea
