What a day! Although it's my first Brooklands without a car I still enjoyed the day, but not so much the sun burn LOL. Got to meet a few guys and had a butchers over the engine bays

Hah. Quanturbo is back in the good books again, sort of...

What happened was an odd chain of coincidence: boost pipe blew off and as far as I can see walloped the ECU/engine connector hard enough to glitch the fuel pump power; that spiked the fuel pump fuse... weird!

Wow!! What a day. This was my first meet and I can safely say that I enjoyed it immensely. Only one bad point was that I got sunburnt. So I am now officially the colour of a cooked lobster .

Was great to finally meet the people that I have been speaking to on here for over a year.

I think I'll bring my own food next year though .

Brooklands 2011, what a day, great turn out, nice weather (except the dust bowl ) new faces and the regulars

Jake has got videos of the Coupe hill climbs so he'll get these posted up later, just on our way out to the Quantum kit car so another busy day planned.

This was my first trip to Brooklands and we had a great time, even the wife enjoyed it. It was nice to see so many good coupes and their owners.

Thanks to Begbie for meeting me in Guilford and showing me the right entrance, I'm sure I would have ended up in the wrong car park otherwise.

Open two-seater, fifties look, curvy, grey and purple paint? I wanted a decent shot of that one and couldn't find it on the main site. Not the fastest or the loudest car there by any means, but absolutely gorgeous...

according to my dad, its a late 40s Vignale-bodied 166MM (Mille Miglia)with a 2 litre V12 engine.
Somewhere in the region of 150bhp but on a very light body.

That's right Rob, it's just been fully restored by DK engineering.

It was built in 1948.

Thank you gentlemen: it's for sale on Pistonheads but I fear it will be outside my price range. (On DK's page it's 'please enquire' which usually means if you have to ask, you can't afford it...)

He wasn't Bob, he set off but his daughter was unwell on the way down so he had to return home.

Phew, I knew I was tired but I was sure I hadn't seen Rob, or his car. When I got home I was so tired I went for a little nap, woke up 14 hours later!!

Superb day out! 420 miles and not a hiccup from the coupe. The misses was waiting for it to breakdown or something fall off No faith in my mechanical skills.

Apologies to those who were there and I didn't say hi to. And for those I did say hi (and catch up with), was good to see you all again.

Was trying to ease the new mrs into the whole concept of being interested about motors, etc. without looking like a total nerd. She had a good day out (so I'm told) so next time I'll be a little more sociable!!

Incidently, who was the bloke next to me in the Star Wars shrine who likes Leftfield? Very shiney motor! I half expect it to turn into a Tie Fighter and take off

Brooklands is a tricky one there's so much to see you never get enough time to say hello to everyone. I only spoke to a handful of people and there was over 60 coupes there! You'll have to come to one of the Ace cafe meets, there is always a few us there and we always spend a fair while chatting and having a good nosey at each others cars.

I keep saying im going to come to an Ace Cafe meet one day, just sometimes on a Thursday I finish work late. Must try harder. Hang on ive heard that before.
