On my way home and someone decided that they would do a uturn without looking behind them and seeing as they'd stopped at the side of the road I was passing them when they turned into me and then shoved my car sidways accross the road into a mega sideways drift.

Some serious traffic goes up and down that road I was really lucky that nothing was coming the other way.

The damage is bad but not evil. It's repairable and hopefully without too much trouble; but now comes the dance with the insurance etc. frown

There is little to no hope that the insurance would get that repaired.

My mate had similar damage to his coupe, but not as bad, and they immediately wrote it off.

Not sure where Batley is, but I've added it to my road-user beware list.

Lousy luck stinky, hope the insurance goes favourably mate.

Ouch, that looks like a write-off.

And Moosey - how can you not have heard of the home of the Frontier Club?

taken a small chunkout of the wheel but it's still straight and everything runs OK. amazingly seems to be no chassis damage as far as I can tell.

Missus commented earlier to say that the picture I posted doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it does in real life frown

This happened to me last year though it wasn't that bad, the insurance covered it, £1000 worth of damage.

This will be more, fingers and toes crossed!

Good luck

Mart

Gutted for you frown

The coupé community really needs to locate some SKILLED body repair specialists. I am sure such damage can't be too hard for a specialist to repair. When you see the state of car restoration projects at shows, those guys start with almost nothing and produce a fully finished car.

OK so the insurance might right off the cars but surely it should be possible to buy it back and get the car repaired for less than the pay out!

Family of mine restores cars. I've seen pictures before-after that are incredible. He says he's not a restorer sometimes, but more a recreator. I'll post some pictures in a separate thread when I find some.

I think people on here are being too pesimistic. That's easily repairable at an insurance approved bodyshop.
