I have a 70mile commute daily to work, fuel just plain stupid now!! 350 to a tank from a 220bhp car is good, but I need more Im afraid! Dont expect me to go and get a Vectra or Fiesta,Id rather walk or sit on a train with the rest of the riff raff and weirdos!!! Trust me there out there!
So the car will be on the market asap!!!!
Replacing the ignition barrel, ecu and code box etc as I snapped the key in the ignition. Toooo butch!!And the fuel cut off switch that has suddenly died on me!
Mot due, taxed to end of Sept 11,
Anyone thats interested and dont mind waiting until I get theses issues sorted out pm me and Ill let you know whats been done etc.
Thanks Paul
I was going to replace the belts this year but will sell with or without belts done depending on the price I get for the car.
In case anyone doesnt know my car,its A black L.E. no.76 83k on clock but will rise (maybe)
Will come with 12 months mot, original le alloys or Team Dynamic Savages or both depending on price etc.

Don't know if it will change your mind or anything. But my fuel cut-off switch went once, years ago now, and I've never had any problems with it since*.

*That is not to say I've never had any other problems since. I wish.

Get an Alfa GT 1.9JTD. Problem solved, they're a better car.

lovely car (I have the 156 1.9jtd 150 Ti) but I always love getting back into the coupe which just puts a huge grin on my face.

but as diesels go its a cracker.

The GT feels so different to a 156 even though they're basically the same (floor-pan, engine, etc)
They just feel tighter and handle better.

Don't get me wrong, the 156 and Coupe are a couple of my favourite cars, but sometimes after driving them and then a GT it just feels like I've stepped 10 years into the future.

I am told that headwork improves MPG. Some guys got 450 miles per tank.. I think its Nigel..maybe wrong.

Anyway you can always keep the coop and do this:

http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1225518#Post1225518

Running costs are causing a drop in purchase price of top end sports cars AMGs, M3s, RS's and so forth.

Personally, if i could i'd sell the coop and and get a Lotus Elise. Great light little cars that'll give you 50mpg on the motorway.

I'm not sure i'd want to do a 70mile commute everyday in it though! My 13 mile commute though... yes please!

might have to try the Gt :), although my 156 is a face lift with veloce suspension uprated to Ti speck and running wider offset GTA alloys. It does feel very solid and very tight, felt as good as my dads low miles, new 320d.

I am probably a little biased as although I prefer the alfa in a lot of ways I do miss the fact the coupe feels twice as fast and has a beautiful engine note also my coupe although having slightly less feel actually corners far faster particularly on fast roads, although it is NOT running standard suspension.

on the coupe it's running renewed wishbones, droplinks etc. Also has a top strut bar camber bolts and lower brace, with a koni suspension kit, it is harder and more raw than some kits but it does handle very well. more so on faster bends.
