Can't agree more. Mine gave way just as I got onto the slip road coming off the M5. I'd been doing 80mph only a few seconds earlier shocked

Vibratechnics need to look at your mount, see what has happened, and how it can be sorted.

hmm, looking at their website, they do 2 versions ( road & competition ) ?

Is this the issue ? Or were you recommended the competition only version ? The library images look the same...

I won't say more, however you should obviously talk to them 1st ( off forum ) and allow them to investigate this issue.

I personally would like some of their products, but cannot tolerate anything other than 100%.

Let us know how you get on bud. smile

Spoke to Rob40,and other than his dodgy cooking causing a few bottom end creaking noises theres no issues with his car laugh .

I had the fast road version i think as the competition were just solid.

No creaking from mine either. Could do without any more paranoia in the week before Spa frown

cheers Knight, so that's just different shore hardness then, as would be expected, unless they use nylatron / some PU based rubber.

That was traced back to ARB bushes, poor Joe wore a bald patch with all the head scratching that day!

This is how it should have come out of Torino!

any word from vibratechnics yet?

is it a manufacturing fault or specific to coop. I have noticed that there is quite a bit of movement in engine bay and gearbox in mine; so maybe its a common issue with all coupes?

Has the rear gear box mount gone on any ones?
The OEM of these had a tendency to bend on (the OEM part) hence beefing them up.

I've been running the rear gearbox and front drivers engine Vibra mounts for over a year and no issues. I've only done about 6k in that time though and I don't track my car.

I'd be interested to find out any more recent problems with these mounts. They've been on around for over a year and it seems some of them are having problems with longevity. Not something I'd expect in such a short timeframe.

Yes,
I was very impressed with VT's response.
I told them the issue and John came round to my workshop the next day and was there before i got there.
For me,this was enough to restore my faith in a company that have caused me alot of distress with breakdowns and damage etc.

He examined the mounting and confirmed that it had pulled the threads clean out the casting.
He was keen to sort this, obviously from a safety point of view and also was taking advice from us on the mounting systems we do for the French scene.

He wasnt in any means saying that he knew it all and would only do what he thought best which was quite admirable in his position.

I gave him my mounting, and various other stock ones and he said he would get on it straight away,.

I put it clear that i had lost confidence in there mountings and wouldnt be using them for my application in the future.
I also said that i dont want the mounting back,a refund or any financial gain from this but my intentions were to ensure that they made a mounting that uses a much stronger bolt than an 8,8 and that they reposition the bolt and the mounting point to the stock alloy casing differently.

In total he spent the morning drinking tea ,talking to us and working out new designs.

So watch this space,.

6 months since the last post. To those who have these fitted, how are they holding up?

My VT mounts have been fine in 18 months of ownership of my 20vt. In that time I reckon I've done around 12 track days.

Everything else seems to be wearing and falling apart, but the mounts are holding fine!

I dont use these anymore.
John From VT came round, took a few ideas away and sent me the revised version.
Nice company to deal with, very helpful but the stock ones never fail so im sticking with them.
