Should you ever be so inclined to feel the need to reach into the car from the outside through the drivers window and push the electric window switch with the intention of just raising the window a little bit - then its best you try to quell the urge. It all made perfect sense this nice sunny saturday morning after polishing the car to just raise the windows a little bit so I could wipe the water mark off the top edge of the glass. And I know that the switch also lowers it, but in the moment of panic when I suddenly thought $### I can tell you the force of that window is seriously scary. oooNo joke I was about half a second away from being gullotined. I tested the force later and there's no way my adams apple could have coped with that. ooo

I know it beggers belief & I should be allowed out on my own etc. etc. but word to the unwise - be careful out there rolleyes

I almost chopped my GF finger off when I closed the window on it.

I kept my finger on the passenger window raise button for quite a few seconds before I realised what was happening. It heavily bruised her finger and created some big strange bump on it which lasted for about a month or so. If I ask her about it now, (which is about three years later) she'll say she can still see a mark, although I cant myself. rolleyes

I take it the Coupé's electric windows don't drop back down when they come up against a resistance then like most other modern cars do?

No they don't. Some of us learned the hard way. Myself included.

They should do, I remember reading something in the manual about that if there is too much 'noise' it should stop the window from going up.

They don't reverse. They're supposed to cut out if they stall (as you often see on passenger side windows, that don't get as much exercise, and need three pokes of the switch to get to the top).

This made me laugh...

Funny to read - but not so funny when it's happening to you!

My windows stop when there's force put onto them...:/
