I sold mine and I've regretted it ever since.

I was driving along behind a Tesla, earlier. Very pretty car.

I also saw something that I haven't got a clue what it is - cross between a Corvette Stingray and a squashed Stratos. It had no B-pillar and very distinctive alloys - bit like an Alpina's but more spokes, and solid.

This Mirov turned up at the Newark kit car show last weekend. For reasons unexplained, it was parked in the middle of the Quantum Owners' Club stand.

It's a very small car...

Recently had Italian Week celebrations in Brisbane and the highlight of the Fiat Car Club of Queensland display was a very rare Fiat, a 1911 Tipo 7, one of only 50 built and the only known "survivor" in the world.

It has a 6 cylinder 3,920cc engine of 80mm bore x 130mm stroke. With a power output of 25bhp at 1,800rpm, driving through a 4 speed gear-box and capable of 46mph. (Yes, the owner confirms this top speed) Only has rear wheel brakes as Fiat did not fit front brakes on their cars until the mid 1920s.

Of course, it has no electrics, with the headlights acetylene powered and side and tail lights fuelled by kero.

No fuel pump as the tank is pressurised by the exhaust gases.

It has a landaulet body and a speaking tube for the gentry to instruct their driver.

The car came into Australia around 1950 and was used as a mourning car by a funeral director (in Victoria, I think) until around 1970.

And yes, we did drive it through the streets of Brisbane, at night. Certainly a great sight!

Nello,
here is a link. Just scroll down and pick up several references to Italian Week and the Tipo 7's 100th Birthday Party. My Coupe also is there with the "Dolce Girls" following their concert performance.

Just jumped in on this, but is a Focus RS500 really a rare car? In my books a 996 Porsche is also far from rare... come on guys, get a grip!

All sorts of stuff at a Gold Track event last night at Silverstone:

Jaguar C Type
Jaguar D Type - both looked real enough
Jaguar E Type lightweight
Noble
Morgan Aero
Too many Porsche GT3 RS to care about
Lotus Esprit Sport 350
Cologne body kitted Capri in the paddock, rather nice race Capri on the track
Some matt grey Focus RS that looked and sounded quick
And a rare sighting of SedicRich driving his Tipo!

On my trip to Norfolk and back yesterday I saw (roughly in order)

An Escort Cosworth
A Honda Prelude Type-R
A Lamborghini Gallardo
A Maserati 3500GT
A late silver Honda NSX
An absolutely pristine yellow Mk 4 Triumph Spitfire
A blue Lotus Esprit
A blue 20VT, that the guy who sold me my car was mid-way through breaking frown

Dear monos, a secret truth.
