The towing eye you mention with a male thread is it a red bar? If so this is an aid to help locate the wheel on the hub, screw it in and then offer the rim up, stops the bugger falling off while you try and reach for the bolts.... which you've just kicked under the car with your foot while lifting the wheel  Other things that should be in the kit are the ratchet and the 19mm socket.

The towing eye you mention with a male thread is it a red bar? Seems each set I own has different kit! Nope, I've got one with what looks like a male towing eye - it screws into the female towing eye and is the same size, if a little bigger, with a loop on the end. I've one with -Red bar -ratchet (which doesn't seem to move!) -19mm socket -flathead screwdriver -towing eye The other 3 I own, all differ slightly (and have bits missing!) Weird, I just put it down to Fiat
