Does anyone have any experience of having a set of alloys custom made? I am quite keen on having a set of standard 20vt alloys made for the coop but in 17inch instead of the 16s.I carnt imagine a new fabricated alloy will be cheap but would like to find out an actual figure to work with. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Has this been covered on here before? Ive had a little look about but i carnt seem to find much info on the subject.
There was talk on 18" plus wheels being done, but that's where it ended, it was just talk. I think 18" plus wheels would look lovely, maybe even standard 20vt aswell, but in 18" also. I'm sure there is someone out there who can do it, but its going to be a heck of a cost I reckon, all of that work and money and if you opt for 17", I don't think it would be with it anyway.
Good luck on the quest though, would be very interesting.
A bunch of us down here had some 17 inch wheels made to fit the coupe for around 500 pounds with a minimum of 10-15 orders. Based on an existing design though. Not something from the ground up.
im going to get on to rimstock and see what they have to say. surely it dosnt need a whole new design as i already have the wheel. Just need it made bigger
if you are going to get these made i would go for a 18" wheel as there won't be much difference from 16" to 17" and your get more intrest in the 18" wheel .

The wheel would need CAD'ing up again which for me to do, would cost you Roughly 3.6k based on 80 hours work, constructing an 18" Plus wheel (I've over estimated to be safe). A standard 20vt wheel would be slightly cheaper as it wouldn't take as long to make.
Add the cost of producing the wheels and you'll easily achieve big numbers.
