Looks my nice new shiny Walbro has failed after 3 miles going by what the AA have said. Gutted doesn't describe! Pissed of as I've butchered the pump fitting so I could fit the Walbro and will struggle to get my old OE one back on. frown

Awaiting a low loader to take her home!

Nope £70 + p&p not to say it's not a snider though. Never know AA might be wrong but it'd be a hell of a coincidence.

My battery was flat prior to the run so part of me hopes a proper jump start from a running car rather than a silly booster pack might make the difference! Yes I'm clutching at straws.

So a Walbro from elsewhere or pick up an entire swirl pot and stay OE with the already completed wiring mod?

Well the AA man, did he jump on the walbro as the reason, when you mentioned that was recently changed, or did you allow him to work it out first? confused

It could be coincidence tbh. How long did it run for before (i presume) it cut out while driving?

I mentioned it to try save time, ran for 3 miles, stopped to fill up with fuel and then got 500 yards and it cut out, used the tesco momentum stuff so no I didn't use diesel lol! Although did I go hard on the fun pedal before it cut out?

10 minutes to recovery according to the text I just got. Been here 4 hrs now and I only stay a couple of miles away .

Had the relay out and put the circuit back to OE and no change. Didn't bring my Fluke so can't confirm voltages from the new feed. Although I will check it all tomorrow, belts and braces.

Lol , well that's me just home! In the process of pulling it onto the wagon it snapped my towing eye half way up the tail bed and ripped the FMIC as well as send the coupe rolling down the road, I've never ran so fast. My day is rocking!

Not even casting an eye over it till tomorrow, might even sack it till Monday.

On a brighter note , phoned my chinese on the way home and just scoffed the lot. laugh

Had a nosey at how to section, fuel inertia cut off switch? What causes it to cut off in the first place? In bed now so will check tomorrow.

TBH just glad to be home, the rest is battles for another day.

I would have thought some sort of sensor would kick in when its had a bump.

If you are talking about that it might be worth checking the yellow connector.

Is that the 10 pin block which only houses two wires. I wonder if direct power mod has a bearing on the yellow connector of death well dying? I could live with that if it was the issue .

Mate, the quickest way is to put a 12 volt supply straight to the pump to test it.

Regarding the damage caused by recovery, they should've been move careful. Sounds as if they caused more damage than you had. Make sure you push it all the way with them.

To be fair, as much as I wish I could levy the bill elsewhere the eye must heve been corroded to snap in the first place, still a surreal scenario.

Any ideas on refitting the eye? Get it/new one welded back on.

Guys the chat kept me sane last night so thanks! thumb

Um, did you by any chance use the tie-down and not the actual tow-eye? That lives in the toolkit and is screwed onto a spike through one of the holes in the bumper when required...

Most companies won't use a tow eye to tow for this reason. Most will attach to a wishbone.

To follow on from Neil's post, a heads up for anyone who may find themselves in this position.

This is the towing hook which can be found in the toolkit and which screws in front and rear.

This is the shipping tie down hook and this will bend and/or snap off if used for towing.

To save any further nonsense re my one (That's my photo above) I cut the bleeder off and refinished and painted the whole section.

Looks much better.

Just checked the cut off switch which I just pressed it in , didn't feel substantially raised?

Yellow connector seemed fine, split it and checked both ends no sign of melting or damage.

No injector light on.

I couldn't hear the pump prime when the wife turned the key so I'm thinking maybe it actually is the 3 mile old pump:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270456413527&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:GB:1123

Tried to jump start of the wifes car and no joy, without my Fluke I'm on to plums at present.

I'd like to re-check my wiring mod with a meter but will need to wait.
