Looked like another great year! Nice pics guys..but the number of cars seem to fall way short this time around. Even the number of Alfa's seem to be on a decline. What happened to all the coupes??!! You guys are really slacking behind! Is that your boy Dave?

then proceeds to book this one for the illegal number plate Can they book you on Private Property? Nice to meet you yesterday. As a coop noob thought I would just come along and say hello. Had I known that the turnout was going to be low I would have turned up earlier and "showed" the coop. A lot of nice cars but not a lot else to keep interest up especially for the kids . (unless I missed it) Really needed some stalls selling Car Parts, Models and Car/bike related stuff. My kids brought money hoping there would be things for them to buy. There was one stall selling parts which I bought a Brembo watch from, but it needs much more before I would go back as a punter The website says they want £150 (£75 donation to charity and £75 to Hopetoun) for a pitch! No wonder there were no stalls. Also they were charging £4.50 for an Adult and £2.50 for Kids even though the poster I had, clearly stated £5 per car and occupants. When I pointed this out she simply said that will be a £5 then. Ferrari Dino, the 512 and the 3 wheel Moto Guzzi were my choice for the day (after the Coops of course) Maybe see you next meet Marko

Dave, how fast your boy grows!! Atleast you are doing a good job of feeding him Lego, sorry to hear that you were a little bit disappointed with the event. I've spoken to my good friend Paul Santoni who is one of the organizers for this Hopetoun House meet and conveyed your comments. A few of us organised the first Hopetoun Meet back in 2009...but looks like this year its just Paul and Andrew..so abit short of hands. He would like me to post the following on his behalf: Kelvin Toh has passed on your mail and your comments which are most welcome. I have been inviting feedback on other forums so we can learn for next year. It is just Andrew and I who organise this event which we do for fun and to raise money for charity. however we want it to grow and to be a better event. Hopetoun had agreed the entry price which goes to them, then changed their mind twice after I had the poster printed etc and I had to amend the press releases and then they appreciated they were in the wrong and had to honour what we had agreed and charge the public at the gate the appropriate advertised rate! I will relay your comments very forcibly to them.
All events charge trade stands and our charges are very low. We have tried to get stalls for models books etc which has proved very difficult. We will try again next year which may be easier as the event is established and now has a track record of attendance of public and cars. The third year is regarded as the make or break year for most events. If you have contacts please pass them on to me. Most however dont want to come to Scotland and are england based. I will try.
We advertised kids events on the web site. It was from last year. There was a very poor uptake on it but again I will take your comments on board.
We were disapointed on the turn out of Fiats in general and Lancias. We should have had twice as many as well as with Maseratti on those who contacted me pre event and said they were coming. We appreciate the horrible weather the week before had an adverse impact on the event and those attending wth many of the trade people hanging off to the last second to decide if they were coming and even Hopetoun wanting to put the event on cancel mode if we had more torrential rain!!!
I greatly appreciate your input and the forum support. If anyone else wishes to comment can you please copy me in psantoni@btinternet.com or mail me directly or phone me 07831467360 Thanks again Paul

Guys I feel bad for selling up now! I enjoyed these days and was proud of the strong turn out of coops, I dont miss my coop nearly as much as I thought I would, but I do miss the people I met through it,especially you Ross!!!!!! Looking forward to the Xmas night out in Carlisle if invited lol!! Oh by the way the centre and back box sections have gone in the GT and the guy from Alfaworx is rubber earring my calls and txts,Im disappointed in him,he seemed a really nice guy and conducted his business in a good manner. I almost went to Hopetoun as I got the Sunday off at v short notice but by that time Id done 12 x 12 hour shifts and was gubbed! Fancied taking the Duke through. Enjoying the GT a lot Cheers Paul

Hi All, new coupe owner (20vt hairdresser blue..i know portafino blue..) and would have gone along to this day had I known as based in Glasow and been to Hopetoun House for a wedding a while back as i recall! Enjoying being only the third owner of this well maintained wonderful car! Love the styling and performance, but of course it only takes one numpty mechanic to wrap exposed wires in gaffer tape for a small electrical fire...but no biggy and used every day for three months now without a problem (though now need an electrical connector for the heater blower as current one on way out and putting bit of load on lx elsewhere hence tiny smoke from under bonnet! Any ideas where best to pick up that part? ) Well, as a newbie in the campest coop in Scotland, i wish you all well!! ;-) Marc Hi and welcome to the forum Marc You'll probably find that this topic is best under Technical Issues or Parts Wanted sections and it may even be subject to a Moderator move Since this is your first post though, try forum members who are breaking their coops up here, Duffy for example, or for other parts the guru is Joe aka CountryCruising but also Joe78 and Steve at Alternative Autos. Also on your profile go to edit and scroll right down and you can find a 20vt porty avatar to go up under your user name in your posts...
