to be able to get protected ncd ??

Not with Greenlight !
I got a quote which seemed quite cheap (£597 f/c for my plus)
I forgot to ask if that was protected (i have 4 years ncd now) he said no.. so I asked how much with protected ncd ??

They had to call me back & they can't do it - as i've only got four years ncd

The policy would be under written by Highway.
Suddenly my quote with Elephant (current insurer's) doesn't seem so bad after all !! (they want £850 though on the renewal!!)

Put it in again online & its £790.00 - with protected ncd
Noel Dazey want £736.00 but i've never dealt with them before.

It's up to the underwriters when they'll offer protected NCD.

Don't forget the following, though:

1. Protected NCD only protects your NCD, it doesn't stop your premium rising as the result of an accident.

2. There isn't any obligation for other insurers to accept your protected NCD, so you might find yourself tied to one insurer for a couple of years.

So be careful how much you pay for protection, it might not be that cost effective.

Dear monos, a secret truth.

We can only offer protected NCB to people with Full No claims., our maximum if 5 years.

Once you have 5 years we can normally get the insurer to include protected free of charge.
