Nice day out, so I thought I'd take the coop out to Tesco to do the shopping (yes, I do park in public carparks for those who know me wink ) all done no issues, not even with the kid in my trolly shocked All's good then smile approach car, some scrag end Corsa has parked next to me even though I parked fairly far away from most "things". So I load in the weeks shop & Son, just crouching in to get him strapped in when scrag end owner appears on my sholder trying to get to his drivers door, "Sorry, do you mind if I get my son in first mate?" "No, no probs mate, propper respectable car you got there mate thumb" "thanks alot" feeling pretty chipper smile
As per usual, got the 2x 5p discount voucher to fill her up with 99RON (makes it sort of a sensible price) So I'm waiting in the que to fill up when some yoof ambles past to get into his mates car (Mitubishi Colt) I've got the window open to keep things cool, and he wanders up, stops, admires the coop for a second and says "I like your motor mate, it's Sick" I feel like replying in my best posh accent, "Cheers Blood" ,but I resist and acknoledge his admiration and chuckle to myself, once he's out of earshot biglaugh
It's got to be the new wheels click to enlarge that are gathering all this attention as I've never had so many positive comments on the car from the general pubic in all the time I've owned it so a big thumb to diamond cut alloys, thank you laugh

Must be, it's strange these comments it attracts are from one particular demographic?

tongue

Got to be the wheels.

Similarly, at a Goodwood track day, I was sought out by and received very favourable comments for my 20vt from Lord March and his very wealthy cronies. Must be my pink and yellow wheels biglaugh

I had few comments the other week too, in fact at a petrol station a woman well into her 60's came over and asked what it was and where she could get one as it was "smashing" and she was looking for a new car!

Never hd it described as sick though....we are just not 'street' enough up here!

If you think about it, the word "smashing" is just as arbitrary as "sick". It's only a matter of time before the people saying "sick" are having the piss taken out of them by the younger generation for speaking like old farts.
