Finally, after a let up in work i've had the time to get the ball rolling on my little project 350!! laugh

Step one involved getting both my Garrett GT2860RS(bought from Scal_LE33,cheers bud thumb) fitted and a full 3" decat system including downpipe with 5 stud and interchangeable cat made up and fitted.

So last Saturday lunchtime i headed off to Topgear/Longlife near Salisbury to let them have a look.
The guys were more than keen to get started and began the work there and then ooo Putting other work on the shelf so that mine could be done as quick as possible shocked So i left feeling like i'd lost a limb for the coming days. crazy

No real issues removing the old standard turbo with cracked housing.New turbo slotted in nicely although it sits a little closer to the fan now wink
Then the work on the custom system began.5 stud 3" downpipe with full 3" decat system and interchangeable cat.

Along came Wednesday, pickup day smile I left work later than expected (3hours) only to be caught in disgusting traffic for a further hour.Halfway home i called the guys up and told them to leave it for another day,to which they replied 'No it's fine, get here when you can,we'll stay open!' shocked So i arrived at 19:30 finally to smiling faces all round and comments of 'your going to love this!'

Cue the cold start up!Jesus!!It's loud on cold startup and hearing the 5 cylinders like that....sexual! laugh Now i don't have a vid of this just yet, but will get one when i'm not parked at home so as to be considerate to the neighbours tongue
I do however have these...(excuse the distortion,it was filmed on a phone)

Walkunder

Warm start

Driving home today (windows were open until about 30 seconds in)

laugh

Obviously i'm yet to sort the other mods and remap so for now she's only being driven when she has to be and no faster than 2500-3000 revs, but by christ she's going to be an animal! evil It's so hard to stay under 3k when she's just wanting to pull!

Massive thanks to Chris and Dan as well as everyone else over at TG!Those guys went above and beyond, just for the challenge and they're so helpful and accomodating.Watch this space for DP group buys wink

So the next step is to get her down to Barbz next month for all the following:

-Evo 6 FMIC and pipework
-Uprated Walbro 255 fuel pump with wiring mod
-Fitment of Proalloy SIP(Again,thanks Scal_Le33)
-Fitment of ITG Sports filter

As well as whatever Barbz recommends!! biglaugh
Also need to find a good EBC and uprated engine mounts.

Once that's all done i'll be looking to get her over to Flea so that he can work his magic!

Obviously brakes/suspension/handling will need to be addressed, but this is going to have to wait until the beginning of next year due to work and funds. crazy

So any recommendations or examples of any braking/handling setups would be much appreciated.Really want to get this right to put the power down nicely when i track her once she's ready!

Cheers

Jon

I'm running your setup at the moment and it's great fun and car is quick as well, so I'm sure you'll love it.

I also have a longlife exhaust and rate them among the best, but bloody hell your one sounds loud!!

I've driven with this setup for about 8 months, but now it's time for more power. laugh

You need to hear it in person really, the distortion on the videos really doesn't help. rolleyes
I get the impression that when I get to my goal i'll do my usual trick and go for the next level laugh
So what power are you running with this setup then?

Flea mapped it to 344bhp and 305ft/lbs. I'm running the standard downpipe though with 2.5" decat.

The crank case breather mod and forge re-circ valve with green spring are recommended.
also you will need a clutch, maybe go for one of barbz's?

eibach/county cruising springs with osrav dampers, poly wishbones, 22mm rear arb with upper and lower braces is what most recommend.

dba discs and pagid or carbotech pads for the brakes.

What can a standard valeo clutch with 10k usage withstand torque wise then? But your right clutch is definately on the list. The car is only used on available weekends due to work.Covered 10k in two years! laugh

That is insanely loud shocked shocked

Okay in a crash helmet otherwise it would give me a headache at that volume; it does sound sweet though cool
