Just came back from the flicks, and my girlfriend said turn your lights on, I said they were.

Need to upgrade bulbs, any recommendations, do not want Hid.

Cheers

I tried a couple of different 'super bright' bulbs and they honestly didn't make much difference. Hid's made sooooo much difference, why don't you want them?

hid's only im afraid unless you buy piaa bulbs, japeneese, but there £50 a set and last as long as regular bulbs, but are the best! full stop

I kind of know where your coming from mate. I opted for 5000k HID's in the end and there lovely and bright but also look very OEM not too blue like 6000K plus HID's look.

I agree PIAA bulbs are the best also Osram Nightbreakers arent supposed to be bad either sticking with halogens.

Next year could be tricky with MOTs but it's certainly easier to put some standard bulbs in than to swap a de-cat!

If you want to avoid HIDs I'd suggest osram night breakers (I have them in main beam, they are better than standard) and either refurbing the light cover (hard) or buying a new set of headlights (easy but expensive).

Just went on ebay to get some of these buggers but they do not seem to have any more.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Dragging up this thread again. I recently put the OE headlights on the Coop just in case for the MOT recently & last night was my first real drive in the dark. In all honesty I nearly crashed the car. Not going into too much detail, but I'm glad no one was around at the time I was trying to see with my candles.

So I'm on a mission now to refurbish my HID set of headlights. These will be going on very soon I can tell you. I've forgotten just how bad the headlights are on the Coop. Of course first signs of snow up here when I want to start a wee project.Ah well...... snowman

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time
