I’m looking to pick up a set of cheap steel wheels for my 20vt and want to know what scrap car I should be looking to get them from. I know they are 4x98 PCD but it’s clearing the brembos up front I’d be worried about. I have 17” alloys on it now and want the steelies for winter to stick some snow/winter tyres on so 16” or 15” would be better so I can use a higher wall profile. Is there a 15” steelie that will fit over the brembos that I can find off something more common like say a punto?

Oh and I’m in Ireland so if you have a cheap set to flog not much good unless you live here smile

I think it's unlikely that you'll find a set of steel wheels to fit. Used standard alloys are very cheap. I use these for my winter tyres.

If it's only for winter tyres then using a higher profile on the normal size wheels might be good for the snow - bigger radius, lower torque, effectively gearing it up and reducing the chance of wheelspin.

Get some 175/80/16s on that mother for the ultimate snowgoing coupe! laugh

Coupes are not common enough over here to make it likely to find a set of 20vt alloys. Wish I hadn't sold mine now.
@Mike Ross .would that not put you in danger of catching the wheelwells. At the least I would think you would keep scraping the built up snow/ice off on the wheel well which can't be too good.

Nice narrow profile, good for cutting through snow, just like the old 2CV's laugh

Check out the Fiatforum to see if anyone is dumping 16" steel wheels from Bravo etc, however you are likely to require some 20mm spacers in the front to clear the Brembo.

Banded steel wheels were made illegal in the eighties I think because they were so dangerous. Too much effort anyway for a set of winter wheels. 16" bravos sound more like it. The alloys I have on now are 17" with 12mm spacers up front so maybe I'll test fit some bravo wheels using those spacers and see.

I'm fairly sure none of the Bravo range has a 16" wheel. IIRC, the biggest you can get for a steelie is a 14".

I believe that the Multipla might have a 15/16" steel wheel.

As an alternative why not look on ebay or the like and get a cheap set of aftermarket alloys? You'll find some Fiat ones or maybe even OE (different model) for cheap I'm sure.

I do think no steelie will be a direct fit so you'll need spacers and probably a minimum of a 17" wheel to clear the brakes.

as above, bravo ran 15" alloys on the HGT and Sport, Stilo's ran a 16" wheel though

Some of the 2007 Bravo comes with 16" Steel wheels, do you want me to take a photo? She is in my front yard in this moment.

I'll probably manage without a photo thanks thumb

I thought you were referring to the old style Bravo with the OP asking about cheap steel wheels. I assume then the new Bravo runs a 98mm pcd?

Anyway, like I said a 16" wheel, other than standard, is unlikely to clear the brakes without huge spacers.

Yap! The new Bravo does use 4x98, and so does the Fiat 500. It is only the Grande Punto being the odd ball in the family that uses 4x100!

Sorted! I have sourced a set of second-hand 20vt alloys. I’m going to go have a look at them next week and make an offer. What’s the going rate for these? They have decent summer tyres on them unfortunately which I’ll have to sell on.
What size snow tyres should I be ordering for stock 20vt alloys?
Is a higher wall size a good idea or will it foul the arches

I paid £70 for 4 20vt alloys which needed a refurb. I use 205/50HR16 on my winter wheels.
