When I was down getting my clutch done Barbz bought me a kebab!

well, i was only saying at the weekend to one of the forum GWAR's, x19 pilot, that i'd never managed 400 miles from a single tank of fuel. well today it ticked past that by the impressive sum of 45 miles before i filled her up. there was still 1 notch left in, so c58 litres used.

would this have anything to do with Barbz's building of a solid engine, or the fact i've been running it in and driving like a middle aged woman with no bhp (marco) ?

whatever, hope this lasts when i can drive it properly again!!

just got home and checked the oil - zero used in 1.5 weeks. bear in mind i used 7 litres in 4 days going to Spa and back.....

Especially impressive considering it has your mahusive ginger bulk to haul around, good going Steve

I managed 370 miles at the weekend including 7 drag strip runs down York raceway.
managed 510 miles so far taking my time on a full tank of fuel.
My Pug Hdi didnt do that on a full tank of diesel.

Johnny. About 7 years ago. I bought a coupe, i wanted barbz website down the sides of it. Left a picture of barbz with a local vinyl company. They did their magic. And spelled it wrong. And did it lopsided. My bro snapped it and i ended up posting up the pic 'look at my new stickers' went to work. Returned with about 100 replies ribbin me! First picture is it done properly,. If there was such a thing!

car went back to JBT last night to drop the cheapo mineral oil used for running in and replace with good stuff, and a few other tiny bits for him to potter with.

text from him to me " who the **** wired the fuel pump up? car nearly went up in flames!?"

I remember you having problems with the fuel pump wiring previously, like when it wouldn't start and let the side down in typical Fiat/proccy style, in front of loads of Alfa's and Lancia's

I think Jbt should take out life insurance if he keeps working on your car too

Final update on my car just to close the circle, i don't care if anyone reads it or not

Since Barbz built me an engine, JBT fitted it and all the other gubbins and Leighton sorted the fuelling I've given the car a bit of stick. I realise that's relative, but I've tested it on long, fast runs as well as short blasts of acceleration and really stressed the engine. This culminated in taking her round Donington last weekend, albeit at a slower pace than i wanted due to noise issues

However, she hasn't used a single drop of oil. The performance through the entire range is scintillating - switch to high boost and (to me) it's electrifyingly fast, comes on boost quickly and stays boosting for aaaaages

So in conclusion I have to report that the full love for the car has returned and all thoughts of conflagration/lump-hammers etc are banished hopefully for good.

Jeeez i love this car thanks to you boys, and the wider support and encouragement of the forum.
