Its long time overdue for one of our annual karting events! , and eventually after lots of reminding and heavy hints at the Red Lion meets, Kevin and I thought we'd get our fingers out and organise this.

Karting will be available for between 20-30 drivers

cost £70 each

Plan for the day

Sunday 23rd July
2-2.30pm

Coupe meet, possibly South Mimms off the M1, but not decided as yet, needs to be large enough to take 20-30 Coupes.

we are doing a later start, becasue the karting is cheaper after 6pm, but also it allows those with hangovers to lie in the morning and still get up to polish their Italian Wagons before the meet!

3.30pm
Neil (aka Barnacle) will help organise this,...he doesnt know this yet

Drive through the country A/B roads,.. maps will be provided for those who get lost , last time there were quite a few as it turned into a bit of a race to get there the quickest

430-5pm
Arrive at Daytona Milton Keynes Karting.
Time to park, and then to enter Daytona, and get suited up for debriefing

530pm
Debriefing at Daytona

6pm
Grand Prix event, 10 minute practice and then time trial for qualifying

Then a 40 minute sprint race, all cars out on the track at the same time

7pm
Session ends, more tyre kicking and looking under bonnets, and examining tail pipes

International Circuit
Circuit map

I've booked the venue now, I will need to pay a 50% deposit.
Last time it was a nightmare, getting people to pay on the day, so this time, I am expecting those that wish to go karting to pay in advance.
Once I've got this all organised with Daytona , I'll post various ways to pay, and this will be done on a strictly first come first served basis.

So anyone interested?

Oh ok then if i must come!

Lose as much weight as you want Kev, it won't improve your driving skills.

Best way for Kevin to lose weight would be to have a haircut!

THIS is typically what happens when Kevin gets out on track

put me down also, I have a massive can of WHOOP-ASS bursting to be openned on kevin.

We need some way of working out who is who, any chance anyone can do some labels with our initials for our helmets?

I want to make sure I give kev the finger as I pass him.

I dont think anyone will be as fast as Civic, this weekend he truely proved he is faster than Ben Johnson ever could be.

Ok, boys, I think the label idea is very good, if Daytona will let us do that, I remember not knowing who was who last time.

Civic, Hursty and myself have our own helmets so we should be able to decorate them individually so you recognise 'me' as I go past you each time.

Diets going well only had a satsuma and one Sainsbury's choc chip cookie so far mmmmm

Hell yes - I'm sooooooo in for this. Got own Helmet with lots of swirly red bits, so identifying me is no problem.

Can everyone else be made to carry an extra 20kgs weight to make it fair please?

They dont have any front wheel drive karts by any chance do they?

Kenno - fancy taken the one car down there?

Great ,that's nine so far.

I'm still not sure where to have to original meet up, need a venue that can easily accomodate 20-30 cars, is safe, and within 3/4 hour away from Milton Keynes,...suggestions?

Joe dont worry I'll be shaving my head before hand for extra weight loss.

Si I dont know why your so worried Im clearly more pumped and heavier than you

Hemel Hempstead would be a good place to meet, lots of places we could park up until everyone got there before setting off

Make that 10 I'm up for this. Although the Karting will be a breeze after chasing Barnacle along the roads of Hemel.

Can someone ask about the label thing? Would make thing easier, either on the helmet or the back of clothing.

Joe can yo edit your first post to add in a list of people and status, i.e possibility/confirmed etc.

We'll have to be a bit inventive Shabba, perhaps make some form of crude numbers with paper and sellotape as I doubt they'd be too pleased with a load of helmets with stickers on.

You have no worries anyway you'll be easily spotted by everyone from the gravel

What about fridge magnets on the helmets, letters or numbers.

OK Jim - I'll let you off!

New rule - If you weigh under 14st then you have to carry extra weight.
