I suspect a few people will be sad to see John leaving the fold, so rather than clutter up the advert with comments let's place them in here,

Link to the advert: clicky

Cheers,

Stan

Cracking car. My ears are still ringing from when you started it up at that petrol station and that was five years ago! Afgahnistan - wondered where you'd been hiding. Good luck with everything smile

I have a bad feeling this will go the same way as John's coupe cry

A legend in the coop world destined to be broken for spares that are bought by people willing to spend more than the asking price to get less than the performance that this gives already crazy

This is probably my dream coop, unfortunately I don't have £8 to spare at the moment never mind £8k frown

But if I did? what else could I buy for £8k that has 500bhp and a proven 11 odd sec 1/4 mile?

good luck with the sale mate, I hope someone sees sense wink

If i knew what i knew now i wouldve bought Johns's coupe.

10k at the time sounded alot but its worth more in bits.

Are you in the market for this one, especially after all the work you've done on yours?!

If I had £8k to hand, I'd be very interested in keeping this together for my own track day and show vehicle love. I've always benefited from the financial sense in buying an out of the box vehicle in the past. Mmmmm, 500 horses chinny

One of the original 2.4s, and they were certainly not this cheap back then I can tell you! It would be nice to see someone take this on, very low mileage on that engine.

Don't forget though, if you want the full "500" horses you will need to run it on high octane race fuel (£4 per litre!), otherwise stick to the normal pump fuel for the daily 450bhp!

Leighton - can you comment on why Mavric's engine "only" produces 450bhp on pump fuel when there are several 2-litre Coupes producing similar figures

Is it simply that this particular 2.4 has a fair bit of unrealised potential?

Flea, correct me if I'm wrong, but the 2.4 has more power in the midrange than top end, and the 2.0 all the power at the top end. This must mean that on a dyno the 2.0 will produce more peak power where it is measured?

This was true on paper.
Most of the 2.4 issues were the boost had to be capped very low down until now due to various issues.
But since driving Barbz's car i think the paper lies.
