Does anyone know where I can find the pin data for the amp that's fitted in the V6 coupes.

I have one and I'm hatching a cunning plan to fit it into the coop as a cheap upgrade. I've worked out (read guessed) which wires are the outs but there are many others I don't know.

Cheers in advance.

Have you tried any 406 Coupe Club (is there one?) I think the peugeot "servicebox" only shows part numbers/diagrams for free, but there only needs to be 2 power connections in (one ignotion switched, one switched by the head unit) plus earth, and all the others are speakers in and out which could be spades in a connector block or proper "RCA" or phono connectors but those woulld be labelled "in" and "out" and white for left and red for right. Got a pic of the connectors on the amp?

Unfortunately not so straight forward. There are 27 wires in a 40 pin multiblock.

I think I have 90% worked out. i.e. the power/earth wires are the white and the yellow with green bands (standard Peugeot colouring). But it's the 5 core shielded wire that concerns me. I think that's the input i.e. 4 signals with a common ground. But I am guessing now and it still leaves me with 16 wires that I believe to be speaker wires, but the pairing is a complete mystery.

If its the later 406 coupe then its on a multiplexed network so it wont work.

Not sure why an amp would need to be on a network, but hey, what do I know? I guess 16 wires could be for 8 sets of speakers, seems a lot though, front tweeter L & R, front mid L & R, rear speakers L & R, errr what else, need 2 more...

But the speaker wires are normally grey and green, or grey/white, grren/white etc...

I've had this a while and think it was an R reg car it came from. I don't think it's networked (I certainly hope it isn't). I may try rigging something up and working it that way.

I've done some checking and it appears that there are two versions of the car; the D8 and the D9. Neither seam to be on a network.

Now the good bit. The amp is an 8 channel, 40W per channel, stable into 2 ohm amp laugh.

I have pin data for the amp so will evaluate it and post up when I have some results.

The later type coupe,i.e 2002 onwards are multiplexed i can assure you as the wiring for the amp used to get full of water and cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.

That's good news (not for the owners of the D9's) as I'm now sure I've got the earlier one.

Is the sound quality up to much on these? Do you know how they split the sound, what range each speaker is?
